All students are supposed to report to their secondary schools 1 day after S1 Posting.

What happens if we are not in Singapore during that time?

      Thank you.

I think you need to get a proxy to do it, my friend was in Korea when this happened, she asked her cousin to go in place of her son.

Prelims ended today. Looking back, think we spent too much time on orals, but don’t think turn out much better than if we had spent less time on it. On the other hand, feel so unprepared for prelims, especially for science… could not finish going through the past mistakes also. Feeling apprehensive how the results would come back to be like. I Guess kid also feeling stressed out, and sometimes throw tantrums and refuse to go through the mill anymore…even ask me, why one exam can determine where they go for the next 4 years (Guess this is what the school teacher has been telling them)

On one hand, wish it can be over faster… on the other hand, wish we had more time to prepare

              Dear parents,

My child is having some issues with english compre. We want to practice more. We have stacks of english past year papers, but do you think the answers are reliable?? I have heard they are prepared by students?? I would prefer to get a latest psle compre book to practice, at least the author or publisher is recognised?

Cos English can be quite subjective? its not like math where the answer is exact. Even science answers are more exact as in the necessary keywords in an answer …

thanks in advance! - minor crisis

Also, would you recommend a book to practise English listening compre?

Cos there is no past year papers , so why not just sharpen the child’s ears a bit which is so worn out from all this psle psle psle preparation…

Precisely why is there a NATIONAL exam for 12 years old? Many 12 years old are not even mature enough yet. But where they will spend their important formative teen years where peer influence is so important will be determined just on 1 exam at the young age of 12.

Many countries do away with such national exams at 12 years old as it really does not make sense. But we are stuck here so no choice have to follow and the average children suffer.

I think it also makes the kids have high Pisa scores , but is it tallied against mental stress? Maybe someone should measure the moms instead of the poor kids- i am going insane.
