Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)

Luxedream,
Year 1 and 2 core science include all 3 science domains. The booklist recommended science textbooks (for reference and so far not used in class) are O level textbooks, so I donβt think they are equivalent to nonIP schools lower secondary science. -
Hi parents, my son just got Waiting list from RI dsa 2019, can someone share the successful conversion rate to CO? TIAπ

During my boy's time, he had a few NYPS school mates who gave up RI's CO for other schools. Students offered CO by RI are also highly sort after by other top schools. It does happen, so chance for WL conversion to CO is there.

However in recent years, I noticed that RI has put in more effort in outreach. So I won't be surprised if the CO acceptance rate is higher nowadays. Good luck to your kid for both his WL and PSLE! -

Don't be unduly concern about Y1. As your boy was offered a CO, the school must have gauged him to be highly capable. Since he has the ability, do allow him time to feel the environment for himself when he enrolls next year.
Thank you very much for the information.
We won't be in Singapore on registration day, so I'm a little nervous and trying to gather as much info as possible.
For Y1-2, are Physics, Chem, Bio considered 1 Science subject or 3 separate subjects? If it is 1 Science subject, is the syllabus similar to other schools' \"Lower Sec Science\"?
Thank you.
I like the analogy of RI students to the 3 stage gryphon. In Y1/2, the students are known as gryphon hatchlings, just out of primary level and trying to know the school and themselves better. In Y3/4, they become gryphon adolescents who are more mature and confident. In Y5/6 they will become adult gryphons where the learning they make throughout the 6 years will crystalize into who they are.
So relax a little and let things take their course. With strong family support and a nurturing school environment, the students have what it takes to do well in school and beyond. -

To bring better value to our students, the School will be working with the new uniform supplier to evaluate and fabricate uniforms in cooler and more comfortable materials that will be available for sales from 1 November 2019.coast\" post_id=\"1932267\" time=\"1567063373\" user_id=\"38933:
