      Hi all,

which to choose, art, D&T, EBS or music?

Apparently son's school only have the above but
Art must be grade A or B
EBS: English must be above 60

Son wanted F&N but only offered for NA

      Thank you
Art and EBS come with prerequisite. Does he meet the requirement?
D&T and EBS would probably be the most useful / helpful.

        For my overall score,

        Eng: 60
        Math: 83.8
        Sci: 72.3
        MT: 64.435
        Geog: 72
        Hist: 67
        Lit: 67.4
In my school, there is only double science and double humanities and triple science and one humanities
Is it possible for me to get triple science?
For humanities, should I take Geography or Literature? I am more interested in literature but my geography has better grades? Thanks!

His English & Art barely passed.

          Base on this website: https://www.seab.gov.sg/home/examinations/gce-n%28t%29-level/2019-gce-n%28t%29-level-syllabus-for-school-candidates

          Art Syllabus T #
Design and Technology Syllabus T #

          # To be examined for the last time in 2019

Not sure will these 2 subjects be gone...

Assuming D&T is available, he should take that. Otherwise, music.

Not wanting to sound rude, it really doesn’t matter what he takes as the subject overall impact is minimal. If he remains in NT, his academic pathway is limited and relatively fixed. Therefore, he should consider a subject where it may be useful for ITE - hence, EBS or D&T.

I’m okay, open for discussion since i posted it out.
Another problem is should he stick on SBB in Sec 3? He is in NT but taking English, Math & Science for NA stream.

Yes, he absolutely should do the normal N for English, Math and Science if possible.

For ITE admission, there are bonus points when NA scores are being considered for the course posting. You can refer to their https://www.ite.edu.sg/admission/ft/JIEN%20Admission%20Booklet%202019.pdf:

Applicants with GCE ‘N (Academic)’ level grades of 1 to 5 for pre- requisite subjects (e.g. Mathematics, English and Science) for the courses applied for - 2 points for each pre-requisite subject, up to a maximum of 4 points for the course applied.

As long as he can score a pass in those subjects, he will get a better chance of securing a choice course in ITE in future.

I need to confirm my subject combination next Tuesday. I really want to be in A maths but I didn't score well for my exams. Can I still enter A math with just 69% overall? I scored A2 for my EOY and MYE but my test pulled my marks down 😞

Talk to your Maths teacher or the Teacher in-charge of Subject Combination. Usually there will be appeal process where the school will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis. From what you wrote, there is a good chance that your school will consider your case especially if you have the passion and motivation for the subject.

                      All the best!
