Hi
Where is the bookshop and opening hours? Thank you.
Mon-Fri 9am-3pm

Can anyone share more about the Euler or Galileo programme? DS very curious about these. All we know that they are Y1 and Y2 programmes.
How many students are selected each year?
If not selected in Y1, possible to reapply in Y2?
When does it start and frequency?
Is it more like a class or CCA?
Thank you. -

Subject prerequisites
Hi,
May I know what is the pre-requisite for the student to be able to study either Biology-Chemistry-Math-Econs or Chemistry-Physics-Math-Econs at year 5 ? Having this information would be good for us to decide whether to select RI for the S1 exercise, knowing that it is going to be very competitive in RI :thankyou:
Bio/chem/phy/math min gp 2.0
Academic criteria
4H2 y4 results gpa 3.2 or more
Based on what was shared beginning of this year. -

The school will give out more information including course details and application datelines during beginning of the year.

From what I know, this year Sec 1s has 20>number<25 Euler boys and similar for galileo. I don't think there is a fixed number though I read that previous years had smaller Euler intake.
Euler is a pullout prog meaning the boys go to a separate classroom during math lessons according to time table.
Galileo is an after school programme on Thursday. Thursday has other electives, enrichment (aep, mep, msp, rsp, Lit enrichment) and selected ccas so when you receive the full information, you can decide. -

How many students are selected each year?
One Class (usually between 20 to 25)
If not selected in Y1, possible to reapply in Y2?
No. However, if the boy did exceptionally well in certain competition during Y1 (e.g., SJPO, SJChO, ...), can always check with teacher-in-charge to see if he can join in Y2. Note that for Y3 and Y4, there is RA (subject-specific talent development) for Y2 boys who did very well in subjects like Science, Maths, Eng Lit, Geo, Hist
When does it start and frequency?
Selection test and interview during Term 1.
For Euler, it is a pull-out class (i.e., Euler boys will go to another classroom during their Maths lessons). Frequency same as RP Maths for all RI students (a few lessons per week).
For Galileo, it is held in the afternoon (only certain weeks of a semester, not weekly). The schedule of the lessons and other details will be given to students at the beginning of Term 1 (prior to selection tests).
Is it more like a class or CCA?
Class but :-
Euler boys are also in Maths Club (merit CCA every Fri afternoon).
Galileo boys are also in Science Club (merit CCA every Fri afternoon).
- Note that there are exceptions (e.g., Euler boy not in Maths Club)
Thank you. -
Any veteran parents have information on CEP?
How many students are selected each year?
Is it a 1 year or 3 years commitment?
Is there a withdrawal period like Third language?
If not selected in Y2, possible to reapply in Y3?
Is there no other time slot except Tuesday afternoons?
How is the homework load? My boy has very very basic programming background.
Thanks. -

You are correct. Just checked with my DS on Euler class (his batch was 20 or 21). I have edited my earlier post on Euler class size.

How many students are selected each year?
Usually one class, but for 2018 Y2, the school managed to increase resources to cater for 2 classes (50+ students). Not sure about this year Y2.
Is it a 1 year or 3 years commitment?
Students can drop CEP when they choose their Y3 subject combination end of the year. 2019 Y3 has 20+ students (from 2018 Y2's 50+).
Is there a withdrawal period like Third language?
Refer above.
If not selected in Y2, possible to reapply in Y3?
Yes.
Is there no other time slot except Tuesday afternoons?
The time slot will be given by the Teacher-in charge. Note that the time slot may be different for different levels and on different calendar years.
For 2018 Y2 batch,
CEP lessons will be conducted on Tuesdays (for Year 3 & Year 4), and Thursdays (for Year 2) from 2.45pm to 4.45pm.
How is the homework load? My boy has very very basic programming background.
There is usually 1 assignment (individual/ group) for each term, i.e., 4 per year. The last assignment usually has a much higher weightage and hence require more efforts. The assessment policy (for ALL subjects including CEP) will be given to parents at the beginning of the year.
Thanks. -
Thanks so much coast.
Lastly, would like to ask if you think a regular student can cope with
- in Yr 2. 3rd Lang + CEP
- in Yr 3. 3rd Lang + CEP + 1RA
Cca 3x a week.
Thanks again. -
in Y1, 3rd Lang, Euler and Galileo plus 5x National training reduced to 3x per week......is still exhausting. :imdrowning:
