How do you parents introduce to your kids the passion and love for music? I want my kid to learn to play at least one or two musical instruments but I have noticed that he lacks patience. Any suggestion on what should I do?
Exposure - bring them to concerts. Plenty of free ones around Singapore. Pick the ones that welcome kids. Immersion - listen to plenty of music, have the radio on instead of tv at home, in the car, etc. Sing along! Sing in the shower, spontaneously burst out in song, parents play an instrument and sing along, etc. When the kids enjoy music, they will naturally start to imitate and sing and want to try playing too.

Not sure if your have heard of joywaltzacademy...they have 2 branches at hougang and yishun!

They focus on really young kids age 3 onwards, its a very small group class, and the foundation taught was really good for piano playing! my daughter has been there for awhile and she enjoys the lessons very much, and i saw the progress she made since she first started. you can give it a try! They provide free trial lesson, so no harm to check it out before you decide 🙂 hope it helps!

i recently saw this on FB! they are even giving away free piano roll for their new outlet!

I think piano can also train listening. I like piano more than violin. I use amplifiers to add some new colors to the piano.

I remember that I started with ukelele when I was 6 years old. How I can make my child be interested in music or musical instruments when he was so into IT stuff?

There are plenty of apps that allow the child to use iPad/phone to learn to play music.

Eg. Guitar Hero, Simply Piano etc. Or some deejay apps that will allow him to mix and compile different songs with sound effects. That could be fun for him.

Hi, letting go a used ukulele that is still in good condition. This is a great option if you would like to kickstart your child’s musical journey.

Hello parents, for those wondering where would be a good place to start learning music, or how to pick instruments, I recently started a page http://www.readsheet.sg providing tabs for pianos (much like guitar tabs). This page was initially created for a school project, so it would be really nice if you guys checked it out! All the tabs are free! :lovesite:

We basically convert traditional notes that falls on the 5 black lines to numbers so that everyone can now pick up learning the piano super easily and efficiently!! You can give it a try with our free scores online and let us know your feedbacks heh. Oh and also if your interested, our instagram is @readsheet.sg

Theres also a video tutorial on how to utilise the service on the site itself (under the numbered notation page under \"services\"). Hope this piques some of your interest! Have a great day ahead! :imcool:

                        :thankyou:
