All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

This may be a dummy question but I’m going to ask anyway, do both parents get to volunteer as PV under 1 application or just one?

Hi... I'm new to this... wrt PV, I'm traveling oversea 50% of the time for work and wonder if I'm allowed to combined with my wife to clock 40+hrs?
Not all schools allow this. I know of a school which asked u to decide whether u want daddy or mummy to do the PV? Once u decide, only the daddy or mummy can do the PV, cannot combine.
But other schools allow combination... -

I think some schools don't allow both parents to do the volunteer, but those I heard allow. Me and hubby both do the pv work and help clock up the time. But can also be activity dependent, mostly they will say either 1 come (give chance to other pp) but there may be some times when they need a lot of pp, then they will allow 2 to work together and clock in that time. -
Hi Hairuliza,
No worries…it’s not a dumb question. I asked the school admin whether hubby or myself can do the PV…just in case I’m not free to chalk up the hours. School assured us that either myself or hubby can do so, as long as it’s not the maid.
For some schools like RGPS, Pei Hwa and Henry Park, either parent can do the PV. -

The best is to select school that can allow either the husband or wife to volunteer of PV. In that case won't be so stressful where the single parent have to clock 40 hours. -

Hi Barbie, PM you.Hi everybody
I'm a new mom in this topic, did anybody can help give me some
suggestion?
I going to move house in this September ,2010. so I plan to let
my DD to get in Gongshang as I my new flat is less than 1km from the school. My DD born in 2005. Since Dec last year 2009 I already submitted
PV form at Red Swastika cause which more than 2 km away from my currently flat. If I want to do the PV for Gongshang then I need to cancel the PV at Red Swastika? BTW the school have not call me to do the PV.
Thanks

I remember one mother told me she and hubby (I take it as either parent at one time) did more than 40 hours in Henry Park.
hyyh,
With P1 registration coming up soon, I think it’s better for PVs-to-be to call the school to ask about their applications in September after the whole process is over. Primary schools now are bombarded by calls from parents asking about their eligibility now. So potential PVs will have to wait a while to get their answers.
