2020 P1 Registration Exercise for 2021 In-take

2014 has birth numbers comparable to the dragon year. i wonder if MOE will increase the number of places in the schools. Or more accurately, which schools will have places increase?
-
Don’t recall the numbers were increased for 2012 dragon year…those in the know may enlighten

The best you can hope for is for the numbers to stay the same as Dragon year. May not be possible for all schools though. Have to consider the physical space / resources available.

Yes the seats were increased for this recent 2012 Dragon year batch (now going P2 in 2020).

But only at certain selected schools. They added 30 places (ie one class) at various less popular schools across the island. Mostly in northeast region to cater to the population demand there.
Don’t be too hopeful for SG50 or SG51 batch. Even if they choose to add more seats, won’t be in those hot schools lah. -
Coz those hot schools had already maxed out their capacity to cater to high demand every year regardless of which animal or SGXX year

I went to dig back in the Dragon year registration thread. Here are the list of schools that increased their places. Some decreased. All these were announced by MOE very late (June 27):

i realise that monfort is reducing from 150 to 120 to 80 (for 2013 kids). Is the school closing down?

There’s a downward trend of TUR throughout the years, probably around 2 classes in recent years. Therefore the decision to reduce intake as well. We can’t be sure what happens next, merge or etc.

There were some good reviews at Montfort thread recently. So there are some happy parents. Maybe u can find out more from them about the current numbers and any news of merger? (I’m just making a wild guess here...If it were to ever merge, most likely is merge with St Gabriel’s)
Sometimes a small intake is good, more personal attention. Provided the teachers are good & willing to nurture the kids. -

Eventually, it will take its toll. That said, unlikely it will close down though, most likely it will follow the lead of some other missionary schools and convert to co-ed if it comes to that.
