West Spring Secondary School (co-ed) – 220Hi all
My girl has scored 231 and we stay at cck. Can parents who are familiar with clementi town sec, kranji sec, bt batok sec, dunearn sec, etc share your experience and views with me on the above schools?
Will appreciate advice on other suitable schools that I may not know..
Thank you..
Unity Secondary School (co-ed) – 212
Chua Chu Kang Secondary School (co-ed) – 211
should be ahead of Dunearn ? -
For those staying in the north or northeast, how do you choose the schs? Any recommended schools in this area?

I think it would be helpful if you could put in an indicative t-score and some parameters, such as boys / girls / coed, missionary schools, etc

If you are looking at:
Mid 240++ Anderson, Nan Chiau
230++ Plenty -
Thanks. floppy. Tbh I don’t even know where to start. I’m staying in Yishun so preferably schs in Yishun/Sembawang. Can forget abt northeast as my husband doesn’t want our son to waste time travelling. I’m planning to try DSA to YTSS but would like to find out more abt other schs within the area too.

Most people usually start with an estimated t-score, assuming there’s no other considerations like single gender schools, CCA, etc.

Therefore, if he’s estimated to score > 250, your choice is likely to be RI or CHS (unless his MT is not Chinese).
For > 240, it will be either Anderson or CCHS (Yishun)
For > 230, YTSS, PHS, KCPSS, Riverside or Kranji.
Distance and time are non-linear where public transport is concern. Depending on where you live, schools close to a MRT station, such as CHS, PHS and KCPSS, could be easier and quicker to get to compared to some schools in Yishun / Sembawang. Also, NCHS in Sengkang takes less than an hour to reach from Yishun, which many people would accept as a good compromise if it means getting into a good school.
If you are using DSA, most people would tend to “look up”. Therefore, even if you estimate that he is going to score only 230 or 240, there’s no harm to consider CHS as one of his three DSA options. -

Thank you so much, floppy! -
For Best Secondary School here in Woodlands, Riverside Secondary and Evergreen Secondary are thus far the best school. However, your child needs to have good Aggregate Score in order to get in. It is very competitive. This is just my opinion.
