Judo is a strong cca in nygh. They are either champs or runner-up. Good to be chosen but then hor must watch the weight cos they split the girls into categories by weight so weight management is impt.

As far as I see, the Judo girls are quite well-built, probably an in-born thing and also because of physical contact, there are some amount of bodily injuries that the girls may sustain (eg dislocated shoulders) . Also, as the girls are being slammed as part of their training, be prepared to see bruises etc on their bodies.

My DD chose to join clubs. She did NOT fill in all the choices, couldn’t remember whether she purposely left out all the UG or sports.

One of her classmates applied for the same club for CCA as my DD but she did not get. My DD was surprised even clubs CCA are so popular.

Based on my limited knowledge of the CCAs:

Sports - if untrained, chances may be higher for TnF, Judo, Softball, Lion Dance
Perf Arts - if untrained, chances may be higher at Theatre, Concert Band, Choir (provided your vocals are good)
Clubs - I think passion is important, they will try to sieve this out during interviews/performance tasks
UG - I don’t think need prior experience but not sure why most parents siam UG such that it is a compulsory choice in the CCA selection form

UG…i think its the drills under the sun , outdoor community work you need to prepare to commit…not everyone is for it I guess…
