How is the Mother Tongue results ?
-
Hello. Anybody have any idea.. ๐๐ฝ
1) how many slots are there for DSA maths?
2) how many applicants roughly?
3) how large is the commitment required once accepted? (Training 1-2 per week / how many mandatory competitions?)
Much appreciated if have any experience on above. Thanks -

2) 100+ sat for the admission math test. So actual number of applicants much higher. Not sure how things have changed but in the past math is the most competitive academic dsa domain. Platinum or gold in math Olympiad competition will almost guarantee you a spot (unless you screw up the interview). But heard most hv to sit for math test if being shortlisted these days.
3) commitment not v heavy. 1x training a week, about 2 hours (the girls are v busy, they donโt hv time for more trainings!) many girls canโt even make it to trainings from year 2 onwards as it clashes with the many other projects and activities in school (but can only be excused with valid reasons). 2-3 mandatory competition per year and required to attend some math related workshops. -

Thank u very much for the informative reply. Seems we have some work to do and targets to achieve first. ๐๐ฝ My daughter has an external sport too so she will have to be ready for a hectic timetable whichever school she goes

Thank you. Direct PSLE seemed like the only choice when her sport (judo) was no longer in DSA. But seeing that commitment for Maths may not be too taxing, no harm just trying it out. Sheโs as competitive in sport as she is in academics, so we Just see how it goes ๐

1) itโs 20+ no minus
2) 100+ are number of shortlisted candidates that sat for the test. Actual number of applicants much higher than that. Many math Olympiad silver medalists (including geppers) also have to sit for the test... -
Hi has anyone received outcome of the math olympaid selection test for year 1 which they took last week?
