I often wonder what would have happened to SG if China did not lockdown Wuhan and other cities during 春节.

On 23th Jan, I expressed my frustration in ME TIME thread because I was unable to get surgical masks at pharmacies, and to be honest, I still did not manage to buy them up till today.

Yesterday, my 90yo MIL had to visit the clinic as she was feeling unwell. We managed to dig out last few surgical masks for her. The mask was manufactured in 2016, no expiry date printed though, don’t care, just use.

The thermal scans at airport proven not effective to identify those virus carriers at airports and if Wuhan was not locked down before CNY, I don’t dare to imagine the consequences.

Guess PRCs bought a lot of masks (by cartons!) and sent back to China? I can understand cos they are more in need than us. I can only say that on my part, maybe I should have been more kiasu a bit. Shouldn’t wait until masks, hand sanitizers, etc. already out of stock, then go queue for these items.

Yah, I also can’t get any masks, or hand sanitizers
So ridiculous if people buy n stock up or keep so many ... sigh...
There are quite a number just wear n walk around, the kids dun look sick, still playing n running in playground etc
I do have abt 10 plus pieces in store rm for normal flu usage,
No hand sanitizers too, just wash our hands with enough soap!
I think cc more prepared than Sch coz they have hfm every now n then
My dd class mate infected hfm diesease , our neighbourhood dangue RED zone ... sigh.... why like that , weather weather !

I dont know how authentic/effective the masks/sanitizer from online platforms..I just buy. No choice. Cant find any. Even cloth type also I use..Today went supermarket with kids, very fast in and out, dd helped me find some ingredients for curry fish head today

I have extra 2 boxes of surgical mask. My MIL bought so much. I have to sell it off to the neighbours.

Estee, but these 3 students did returned from China recently leh. One of them was in my child's class. Yes I have to worry for my kid and others in the class as well.

This is the type of attitude that made us wear masks in public. An infected person can be asymptomatic
during the virus incubation period. If they don't quarantine themselves, how would we know we are safe in public area?

I have ordered a number of pcs but haven’t received…dont think we will wear everyday everywhere also, use it more when we have weaker immune system I guess…planning to give away some… Also ordered quite many tubes of vit c to share tho that doc says it won’t help…Hope this clears fast and all back to normal soon.

Hope the supply will continue from other countries…

Tried to buy handwash yesterday… but also no stock. Maybe just my area.

Yesterday, I happened to walk pass a school bus, about 10 Japanese kids alighted, 8 of them wearing surgical masks. Don’t think they are sick and I wonder where they get their masks, cos everyday must change. Lol.

Vitamin C alone not enough. Cannot fight against virus but can build up immune system against flu bug. Those who kena first are those with weak immune system (e.g. old folks)

phew luckily got +zinc..me think about good for immune system too at least.
