That’s why I say better to wear a cosmetic / design mask. No one is doing it right anyway. So, may as well look good while doing it wrong.

I think shld suggest to our authorities fixed the prices for retail of face masks to the public besides controlling supplies so that supplies do not run out for those in life-saving & medical services. Oh yes, incl those whobface the public in services line (nurses/docs, taxi drivers, etc). Those in banking, research, sports, etc don’t really need till there’s community spread?

I’m also upset those online retailers exploiting ppl’s fears & selling at high prices. Worst, not only they sell useless masks at high prices online, now we hear of audacity of selling expired masks & damaged ones! Human greed & heartlessness to the core.

Thankfully most of our families had just done a comprehensive Springcleaning 2 weeks ago, so my furniture, bedsheets, floors, toilets are very clean. And also thankfully I've always been quite a germaphobe, so my family members must abide by my rules to always change out of their outside clothes immediately upon stepping into the house, must wash their feet and hands immediately upon reaching home like the Japanese and must wash hair daily. I also always maintain a mini stockpile of masks (from lowest grade beauty salon type to black charcoal masks to surgical masks to Air+ masks to highest grade 3M N95 masks), hand sanitizers, antibacterial hand wipes, few types of thermometers, hot-cold packs, adhesive cool pads, surgical gloves, plastic gloves, medicines and multivits.

Tho I’m not so germaphobe, I’ve learnt to change out immediately arriving home, wash hair daily, all doors (front, kitchen, toilets, bedrooms doors) hv to be wiped down on daily basis even before this wind of nCoV. I’m highly sensitized to remind kids not to touch face & wash, wash, wash & I do so everyday as I visit FIL in hospital daily.

Got my helper to clean out entire house again before & after Reunion Dinner. Poor girl, asked her to rest & wake up later for Sat & Sun she didn’t want to.

In all seriousness, surgical mask is not designed for reuse. It is also designed to prevent the others from the wearer! People keep saying wearing a mask is better than none but here’s the thing, avian and influenza viruses are known to enter the respiratory tract via the eye passage. You should be wearing full face mask to save yourself (gas mask, the one that your son’s classmate brought to school, is the best - he obviously has more sense than everyone else ). Lastly, the virus may also enter the body if the wearer touches his mouth, nose and eyes after touching a surface with the flu virus on it. How often you sanitize your hand before touching your face?

from the reviews for this particular item, I read quite a few voiced displeasure..and some want refund. The seller to me, so far been quite 'ok' ..say sorry as response and willing to refund from the few replies..so I guess just guess that he probably just knew that stocks is as such one person get abit more, by time reach us will be quite significant liao ba..

Those who raise prices by exploiting people’s fears are known as entrepreneurs. The process of rising price is called economics and the process of exploiting fears is called marketing.

But yah, those who sell expired masks, defective products etc are really black hearted merchants.

I rmbr Dr Vivian Balakrishnan’s instructive speech back in 2003 in parliament, not to touch face & watch our unconscious habits touching eyes, rubbing nose, etc. I believe I’ve been a good student to those good-hearted doctors.


This round, the ministers’ effort in meeting & advicing & the nation to watch hygiene, exercise social responsibilities, not act in panic and it’s a global effort, not just one Grp of ppl. You noticed how much tired & older most of our ministers hv become? Yet they still plough on.

I’m sure the recent announcements, to help those in frontline & those who wld be loosing big chunk of the livelihood, did not happen with a flick of fingers or speak off the air. They’ve to hold meetings, churn numbers, pull resources before making public announcements for making aids available. The order to track & trace exploitative merchants does not just happen, but meetings to eventually persuade & ensure orders are within reasonableness & for the Public good. Mobilizing the Army to pack face masks for distribution & what form of distribution does not just happen. Much time wld hv been spent in meetings to deliberate & hear differing opinions fr civil servants before action.

I’m doing my part in calling out Jadefox’s fake as my part to stop those who think KSP is a platform for irresponsible postings, thinking we’re a bunch of blind, brainless Singaporeans (they call us sinkies) who wld be vieled to believe our docs, govt, our soldiers are the ones hiding masks fr us & compromised everybody’s health with lies. Now why wld ppl loose precious sleep (whilst the rest of us are comfortable at home with loved ones, having warm home-cooked dinners, watching TV, etc) to ensure they work & adopt good measures & emergency plans proposed by medical doctors, engineers, scientists, etc? I can’t rest even after running entire day over my elderly’s needs as the main-caregiver in hospital needs, coz I read but had no time to respond to such false posting. It irks me even now.
