      Hi Lynn2010,

Yup, your dd should be able to take Chinese from scratch at ACSI. The subject is known as \"Mandarin Ab Initio SL\".

One small requirement though, is that your dd must have no prior formal instruction in Mandarin to be eligible for the Ab Initio course. I'm not too sure where exactly the line is drawn though, so you might want to give the school a call to find out.

Hope that answers your question. šŸ˜„

        Thanks!!!

Does ACSI have any preference for girls from MGS? That is they will give some special considerations (via DSA).

Err, I don't really know about this haha šŸ˜“ . From what I recall the DSA students for my year were mostly from RGS and other IP schools as well as ACSI O level track.

ACSI does have a fairly large population of MGS girls though.

Aiyo why must necro and hijack an old post...
                I gradded from ACS(Indep) IB.

When most people say hwa chong they refer to HCJC aka HCI which doesn't offer IB. So I'm assuming you mean hwa chong international HCIS.

in singapore, acs(I) has the best ib programme for a normal farmer/mugger student. if you're really into a visual or performing art then possibly sota.

A level is already a great change from O lvl syllabus my dear, so I think there won't be much shock OTHER THAN if you didn't take english lit then mentally prepare yourself - english A1 at ib is not a walk in the park.

Sure it's possible to get in with o level results, but i also dunno you're faring in sec school (no mention of school, average). Most recently I've heard is L1R5 with bonus of 5pts. Hope you've been active in your cca as well.

                hope this helps

ACSI is called world IB school. You need to score well in O level. L1R5 about 5 or below.

For more details, you can refer to the info here:

                    Hello everyone!

I am a Year 4 IP student and I recently took part in the ACSI yearly IB Year 5 admission test, I am seeking for people who have either entered the school through this exam or parents whom children have done so too. I would like to enquire about how long it takes for the results of the test to come back and about your experiences being an \"outsider\" to the school. Thank You!!! šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„
