Horizon is a guaranteed ballot for <1km in Phase 2C thus far. Therefore, there is a chance that your #1 may not end up in the school if you try for the ballot. Also, if Oasis follows last year’s 2C outcome, you will not get an opportunity in 2Cs if you fail to get into Horizon in Phase 2C..
Hi,
My #1 currently in Oasis MOE K2, need to register for P1 next year. And my #2 need to register for K1 next year by 7 Feb 20.
We hoping at the end of the day both #1 & #2 can be in same school (primary & kindergarten).
But we are very unsure that shall we give up the Phase 2A2 chances in Oasis and enroll my #1 to Horizon Primary? or should just let him continue in Oasis Primary in P1. From MOE website looks like Horizon Primary School has more CCAs and Academic subjects offer than Oasis Primary.
Both schools are within 1km according to Onemap. And we are SC.
We are hardly find any review for Oasis Primary school in terms of their CCAs, Academic and Student care review.
Any mummy can help to give us some advices?
The logical suggestion would be “a bird in hand is worth two in the bush”. Since Oasis Phase 2A2 for MK is baojiak, and MK is entry by sibling priority, the safest solution would be to go for Oasis.
P/S: there are more than mummies on this forums eg daddies, kids and some who defy any classification. -
feeling so worried for my child P1 registration for this year.
my child is SC and born 2014.
Checked the OneMap, school within 1km is New Town Primary (which i am reluctant to register), within 1km to 2km are Fairfield Methodist, Henry Park, Nan Yang and Queenstown Primary. Do you think that i have a very slight chance for getting into of one of these? Is it better to move house or rent a place which is nearer to eg: Fairfield so that i can get a higher chance? I am also thinking of Fairfield, Henry and Nan Yang are very difficult to get in, should i try Alexandra Primary school by moving nearer to the school?
Appreciate if you could share your opinion and advice. -

Easiest question to answer: Do you think that i have a very slight chance for getting into of one of these?

Yes. Only for Queenstown Primary. 1-2km should be safe. The rest you can dream about it. -
Hello all, we have been volunteering diligently in Tanjong Pagar GRC for many years and are thinking of enrolling our daughter (born 2014) into SCGS under phase 2B (assuming we get the PA letter). Have been trying to shortlist rental properties within the GRC. 1 is at Tiong Bahru (>2km away from SCGS) while the other is in Bukit Timah itself (<1km of SCGS).
The tiong bahru rental is almost half that of the Bukit Timah rental (we know the landlord) but we are wondering if it is very risky to try to get into SCGS using phase 2B and >2km away? SCGS’s balloting history only shows balloting for more than 1km for phase 2C on their website, not sure if that means phase 2B is generally safe, even if more than 2km away. Grateful to receive some advice on the above from any kind souls! Thanks v much! -

Hi
I have an older child(son) in a co-ed school which is within 1km. I know I am eligible for Phase 1 for my 2nd child (daughter).
Anyone knows the procedure if I subsequently decides to register my 2nd child for a girls school under Phase 2c?
thanks -

You will have to withdraw from the Phase 1 school before reapplying in the other school in Phase 2C.

thanks floppy.
Do you have any idea how does 1 ensure a place in the school under Phase 2c given that parents can register online? Cos I understand that I will run the risk of losing a place in the primary school registered in Phase 1 if I withdraw in phase 2c for another school.
appreciate the advice. -

No one can assure you of a place in Phase 2C. If there’s a ballot, you will have to go thought the agony like everyone else. If you are not successful at the ballot, you will move on to phase 2Cs.
thanks floppy.

Depending on the school, the risk of balloting may be high or low. Ultimately, you will have to decide whether the lost of a Phase 1 place (and the convenience it brings) is worth it.
