It’s complicated.
That would be a preference vs made compulsory. Studentcare is not under moe. So unless mcys makes it compulsory to follow moe, which is my original question. Student care is a private entity. For families with no other choice and work doesnt allow alternative arrangement, at least they have another option.
If student care is within school compound, the answer is likely to be closure since the school compound will be out of bounds.
If it’s one of those private entity outside, they are not subjected to the rule unless MSF says so. In all likelihood, if one government agency (MOE) moves towards suspension, you can be sure that the other ministry will follow. -
The enrichment/tuition centers have already told us that they will follow suit if MOE closes the schools.
Aka they have backup plans to roll out e-learning (tutors upload lessons/issue worksheets/give comments etc via email or video feed) should the schools close, they have intention to follow also.
But I dunno how MSF is going to handle it. Or even ECDA for preschoolers. -

So full fees still apply? Video conferencing for lessons ?

for current term tuition fee paid probably go for tuition…but if current situation persists, would you all let kids go for next term tuition?

The RI boy down with Covid, his 64yr family member first saw a GP on 11th Feb then again on 17th Feb, 20th Feb and finally 24th Feb before being tested positive on Wed 26th Feb. :slapshead:
Reminds me of Yong Thai Hang cases, infected patients must see many GPs!! But by then whole family already kena. Hope MOH can do something to improve this situation.
Spore is abit difficult to close sch - due to our National Exams and so called Int GCE O AND A
think about it, pity the students in China, hk , sch had been closed for so long... kids idling ,
working parents also headache abt child care matters, teens at home will become \"unconstructive\" , no effective learnings , middle sch/ sec sch syllabus are important leh
I think for Singapore, we are luckier in a sense, our infection rate will not increase by multi-fold overnight. And we don’t have to close down schools unlike them because Singapore’s weather is 四季如夏 !!!
Hong Kong (part of China epicenter) and Japan, or even in South Korea, their temperature should be ard 15+ Deg only. Whereas for SG, now I think it’s around 32Deg with good dose of UV light! -

Yeah full fees. They have used the fees to set up their E-learning capacity. Not sure whether the videos are “live interaction” or simply pre-recorded lessons by the teachers (who still have to report to work & record these videos/answer qns).

Even MOE schools have briefed the students, should schools close, students will have to login via SLS platform. School servers cannot handle such high volume of traffic, so they even briefed the kids which levels to login at which times. P6 P5 given priority to login earlier. Then P4 P3...and the lucky P2 P1s get to sleep in till 10 or 11am then login. -

If stop tuition, may not be able to get back the same time slot. Especially for her chinese tuition.
