That’s beside the point right?

Flew in for free treatment, in the process don’t know infect how many people (on board the plane). Secondly, it’s tax payers money. Don’t take us for a free ride!

No it is not. There are all kinds of people, both foreigners and local. When you open the windows you let in some flies. Unless one is advocating shutting the windows, we don't need this kind of xenophobic rhetoric to stir up emotions.

Why resort to using labels like xenophobic when it’s not the case here? From an objective perspective, a sick foreigner who flew in to seek free medical treatment endangered a plane load of passengers and consumed medical resources with minimum value-add to the country. Should he welcomed with open arms? Or just made to pay the medical fees without taking into account the people he could have infected in the process?
I am with lee_yl on this.

Everyone here knows la, pirate. Don't think people don't have access to FB and online news. Besides, I've already mentioned here yesterday before your appearance.

...
Costa Fortuna's max capacity is 3,470 (incl. crew). Home port is Singapore Marina Bay Cruise Centre, so cannot turn it away.
But because 10 Mar departure for the 2nd leg of destinations (see JadedFox's cruise schedule) had been cancelled, some passengers (including the Italians who have just been LOCKED OUT FROM WHOLE OF ITALY) are expected to extend their stay in Singapore indefinitely, like the Wuhanese.

if I can still do counting and math ...

total 33 imported cases of which 9 are Singaporeans who returned from overseas (predominately China). xx of them are eligible for FREE medical treatments. Some of them are still in ICU..
First wave of Wuhan / PRC tourists - 15
Evacuees on 2 flights - 7
Non PRC imported cases - 10

Total - 32

Who are the 'some of them are in ICU...\"? All 15+7 from Wuhan or parts of China have been discharged.

3. Should Singapore treats mild cases as seasonal flu and serious cases as pneumonia to get economy going?
Mild cases are still infectious and if allowed to move around, can still result in multiple cases of serious cases. No?

Coata Fortuna has 5 homeports.
• Genoa (Milan, Italy) *main*
•

• Marseille (France Riviera)
•

• Barcelona (Spain)
•

• Singapore (Singapore)
•

• Savona (Italy)
•
Costa Fortuna is owned by Costa Crociere S.p.A., an Italian company.
Costa Fortuna is registered under the flag of Italy under Homeport Genoa (Flag of Convenience)
Singapore can turn away Costa Fortuna.

Do you know how cruise business works in this world? :slapshead:

You want to bankrupt Costa Crociere by asking its regional cruises that serve different routes and that dock at different cruise centres to sail back to its MAIN Homeport in Genoa after completing each regional itinerary? :slapshead:

Please refer to ST report on what Kenneth Mak said re cruise dockings. We have been disallowing cruises that are not homeported here to dock at Singapore cruise centre since the outbreak started. Only those like Costa Fortuna are allowed to return to its Southeast Asian base here.

1. Do you believe China has only 19 new cases in the past 24 hours (9 March)?

2. Based on official 19 new cases, do you think Singapore should re-open to China now?

3. Should Singapore treats mild cases as seasonal flu and serious cases as pneumonia to get economy going?

4. Do you think Singapore recently reversed its FREE treatment policy because it's a planned priority upgrade (machiam solitaire) for residents or because of social media backlash?

Knowing wuhan virus has significant higher fatalities among elderly and Singapore has a larger elderly group in our proletariat. Infected can remain asymptomatic for extended period of time and symptoms can be suppressed using medication an hour before disembarkation.

5. Do you think it is right to accept Costa Fortuna for economic reasons using temporal screening?

6. Do you cynically believe Singapore is subconsciously trying to reduce non-contributing elderly population?
your point 6 is :yikes: from what I feel till now, our G won't abandon us when in other countries like some other countries do and these overseas ppl dont pay tax here means not contributing also?

Let’s be more compassionate with the cruise ship. If we were on the ship, would we want to be left on board just because no-one would let the ship dock? Singapore, with its good controls, is well placed to handle the situation, and will bill the non-Singaporeans/PR for any medical care they incur. The only quibble I have is that perhaps they should be quarantined for 14 days if they do not leave Singapore immediately.
