Your daughter should have had a few choices to put in her selection, right?
That is already in order of preference so they will try to put her in her preferred choice.
But at the end of the day, she gets posted to 1 CCA.

Any one knows what is SPICE?

It's a lower-secondary group project. They will work together to apply their creativity/ problem solving on some real-world issues. I think it includes some excursions to see/ learn cultural stuff so that they can work on their projects. It is not graded in the MSG but culminates in some selection of projects for an exhibition in the school.

Heard that the morning assembly is conducted in chinese. Can someone confirm this? Is there both o levels and ip for nygh?

Most of the sports/ performing arts/ outdoor activities are popular, just because there are more limited slots in each.
There are 5-6 choices for your daughter to fill in after attending the CCA fair, trials & auditions, so most girls should be able to find one that they like. Usually, they are encouraged to try it out for at least the remainder of the year.

There are opportunities to change CCAs at the beginning of Sec2. But the new CCA should have agreed to take them before going to the current CCA teacher & CCA Head and inform them and make the change request.

All students who enter NYGH enter the IP course. There is no O-level option during application. This includes students who come in via DSA.

Having said that, at the end of Sec2, some are identified to do the O-level course from Sec3 if the school determines that they may be more suitable to take the O-level exams.
