already experienced so we know what to grab this time round. :rotflmao:
CCS said, all can stockpile but buy reasonably, more like δΊΊθ―. So earlier, those who worried about xia suay, your minister already said you can stockpile now, no longer xia suay.
Today is a working weekday so less crowded at wet market/ntuc?
Think we will continue to have supplies just that prices will shoot up for time being.
Hubby says this is a good opportunity for non-traditional food suppliers to gain market share, itβs a crisis but also an opportunity. Who knows, maybe SG will emerge more resilient after this? -

my dh always tell to give body chance to burn my fats first- dun rush for food once our brain \"say\" hungry - we must learn to condition our body and stay resilient, now its time to do practical -

in fact my ds likes frozen wings - bigger - not shrink much after grilled or cook curry .
veggies, like leeyl says -heng ah, got china one back
pork- i dislike Msia pork , Indo pls dun shut our meat supply , i think they need our $ so should still have supply
actually, its also good that msia close - in a way there wont be so many many leisure travelllers crossing the link - it will be scary to imagine the virus immigration end of this march shc holiday if msia din shut off.
now is to see how to help the daily commuters, quite alot are blue collar- painters, carpenters, renovation , landscape,IT helpdesk etc -

You gotta chill man. I think in early Feb, there were rumours circulating in Whatsapp that should Singapore become a hotspot, our dear neighbour Msia would be so scared of us that they might shut us out and food supply from Msia would be cut off. But ironically, it's Msia that has become a hotspot now, so we are the ones scared of Msian imported cases from the 16k-pax religious event. In a way, I am very thankful the new PM has ordered a lockdown of Msia.
Will we be expecting food and medical shortages with large influx?
Food shortages - the govt had already explained at length about our multi-pronged food security strategy shortly after, so people are more educated this time. I hope you don't worry too much. Malaysia lockdown will not disrupt our food supply chain. We have enough in the stockpile to last us for 3 months and we have other sources if you haven't been going to the supermarket to look at the labels.

Medical shortages - If we continue not to draw PPE from our national stockpile, I guess the hospitals won't run out before summer. Beyond summer, no one knows. China's PPE and ventilator production lines have already re-started, and I read some EU countries have switched their mfg to making pulmonary ventilators. Not sure our capacity of ECMO and other ICU ventilators and drugs, but guess it's enough for now. Suppose ~10% of 13k hospital beds are allocated to ICU and High-dep beds, of which 70% are occupied (more could be freed up), that leaves you with 30% vacancy, so you do the math. We have 13 Covid-19 patients in ICU now.
