Am thinking if the current situation calls for suspending my kids’ private piano classes?
Tr has not suggested but maybe waiting for parents to? Tr has a full time job so not an issue I think. -
Shouldnt then they do a survey of which child will have the facilities and means to stay home, and let all of those stay home?

What happened if declared Red? Everywhere closed including supermarkets? I am worried about food. I do stock up but not hoarding. Usually have enough for 1 or 2 months but my freezer is low on food cos DS3 has been home for a week and I cook every day and I haven't bought for 2 weeks. He is a meat eater and feeding 2 sons is like feeding 4. :gloomy: :gloomy:

One more COVID death in Singapore
If more widespread, we might soon go into total lockdown or RED. Whatever it is, we’ve gotta continue vigilance with handwashing, masks, physical distancing, develop conscious sense of social responsibility, stay united and not go panic zone.
DS3 will be having his 3 months holidays in May and I intended to stock up next week. :yikes: :yikes: -
I am not too keen about closing down of schools. Once a week HBL is a good start and it can progressively be extended to twice week if need be.
My earlier worries regarding those who went overseas during March Hol were already addresses by placing students and Teachers who travelled on 14 days LOA. As for the risk posed by those overseas returnees who have siblings in local schools, the policy already requires them to go Govt quarantine facilities.
Now the only thing left on my mind is public transport. Last week I suggested make it MANDATORY to wear surgical masks (or at least put on a handkerchief) during peak hour commute. I hope something could be done on this front to minimise community spreading.
If we compare ourselves to HK. HK has closed ALL schools since January. BUT their confirmed cases aren’t very far from ours. So I guess, it is not necessary to close schools.
My HK friend asked me one question which stumbled me, whether the HK kids should 留级 or what with so many months of lessons missed. I really have no answer to that! -

Mine have no exam planned too, but kids enjoy lessons, so I thought to keep something for them to look forward to, with everything else suspended. Two high energy level kids in the house whole thing, is a disaster waiting to happen.

But I wld think they’ll leave supermkts & pharmacies open but implement tight controls. M’sia was highly tight monitoring everyone in public incl using drones. Only one person can drive out in a car & no more accompanying pax.
On ano observation of differences of practices, in Scandinavian countries like Norway & Finland were all very tight & cooperative instituting social distancing, etc. However, bcoz of culture & believe in letting ppl freedom to take individual responsibility, the govt do not want to encroach to ppl’s will if they want to socialize or not. Hence, neighboring countries are very angst & anxious their numbers both in contracting COVID & death are increasing.
This is anxious dire times. Everyone can get anxious & yet others defensive. My frd’s elderly mother in her 70s was on her way to SGH with her mask on. Whilst traveling on bus, somebody was coughing incessantly & non-stop. She simple turned ard to tell whoever to “cover your mouth or put a mask on” & ano Malay lady resorted why she stare at her, for which old lady said she was not & that she heard a man coughing. Malay lady resorted that she was staring at her & accusing her as the culprit & look down on her race & utter the “I’ll kill you”. This is sent frd’s mum calling the police. Very sensitive times. -

Those who want to let your kids stay home, just write a letter to the form teacher & tell them so. Don’t AWOL but just write a courtesy note. It’s ok one.

just forgo some holidays - make adjustments to teach & continue syllabus in following yr .... promote all current etc
in Sg, we are more \"stucked\" wat to do to help the O level & A level ? These grps need to finish syllabus n take the exams.
i recalled UK going to postpone n not doing GCSE (which is easier /lesser demand than our GCE Oand A level standard right? Msia also on this GCSE right?(heard my ds fren went back msia to do gcse cos he feel A level too hard) . Then i also wonder how will UK handle such mega exams -
I find Spore with these numbers of cases tho lower is better la…with no lock down/ near lock down, is not bad already…if no ‘mass’ transmission, after whole thing is over… I think some of us will feel proud of our ppl, country and G.
