How much reserve do we have to keep this going? Really hope that we can get over this by end Apr

If our cases drop by then, people start moving around, will the virus come back again?
During this month, a lot of people will stay home, and those still moving around should be more careful. This should mean that the chains of transmission should be broken, and those who are infected should be detected and isolated before the end of the month. Even if the odd case does sneak in or emerge after that, we will be starting from a low base again, and hopefully the good habits developed over the past few weeks should help limit the spread. On the other hand, if too many people flout the rules this month, and new cases keep emerging, this will not happen.

The concern is, those not working, will have too much time on hand, will start socialising since they have received some form of compensation from the budget. No pain, hence no worry. 😓

Those who are not from the trouble eras, will not appreciate what it means to use our past reserves. They did not go those troubled times and hardship experienced by our older gen, how these reserves come about. Really heart pain.

                  b) Kranji Lodge (12 Kranji Road) - 3

                  c) S11 Dormitory @ Punggol (2 Seletar North Link) - 88
                  d) Westlite Toh Guan dormitory (18 Toh Guan Road East) - 29.
                  e) Toh Guan Dormitory (19A Toh Guan Road East) - 14.
                  f) Sungei Tengah Lodge (500 Old Choa Chu Kang Road) - 6.
                  g) 55 Sungei Kadut Loop dorm - 4.
                  h) Tampines Dormitory (2 Tampines Place) - 9.
                  i) Cochrane Lodge II (49 Admiralty Road West) - 4.
                  j) Construction site at Project Glory (50 Market Street) -16.
                  k) Construction site at 6 Battery Road - 5.
                  l) Mustafa Centre (145 Syed Alwi Road) - 40.
                  m) Keppel Shipyard (51 Pioneer Sector 1) - 9.

I’m shocked to see more than 2 dorms - S11 and Westlite.

What could possibly be the commonality? Where did the respective Patients Zero of each dormitory work at before they fell ill? It’s odd that so many dorms have outbreak within the same week. Previously, it was just the Seletar Aerospace construction site with 5 cases.

Have they been disinfecting isolation facilities or hospitality wards after patients were discharged? Virus shed by the confirmed cases lingers in the rooms and toilets.

It cannot just be sparked off by poor sanitation in the dorms. Patients Zero got it working in the community, but where? Little India?

Guest the companies for this workers need to be more specific and strict considering the current situation. Just yesterday while driving bedside 2 lorries ferrying their workers, all were crowded behind and more than half the passengers are not wearing mask . 😞

                      1. Better to quickly disperse the 20,000 of them to Changi Airport terminal 2 for isolation, just spread them out for actual social distancing.

                      2. BMT just got postponed, right, so use the barracks to hold these FWs lah.

                      3. How about old schools, SERS flats waiting to be demolished etc.

MOH should quickly advise on the best mode of isolation for these FWs so why they soooo quiet?!
I hope you were just joking about (1) & (2), You know it's impossible. Homeland security. Occupy HKIA is a good e.g.

                      (3) Do you how why Lim Hwee Hua and George Yeo lost Aljunied in 2011? An old secondary school was retrofitted to house 600 FW (PRC, Msian, Filip in hospitality and healthcare sectors) and that was met with great fury.

Expo isolation cubicles were up last night. They should be adding beds today. I think the confirmed dorm occupants with mild symptoms will be housed in Expo hall.

D'Resort at Pasir Ris might not be for the MWs. An American interviewee told CNN that her hubby is sharing a twin-room with someone else at D'resort as he has mild symptoms. He was transferred there from a local hospital to free up beds for the more critical patients.

How to expect these workers wear masks unless their bosses or our govt give them one reusable mask each? Hard for us to buy masks at one time & it’s not exactly cheap. Their wages not high wor. Every penny earned they gotta send back home leh. Think if govt allows workers go for ‘essential’ work then shld issue each 2 inter-changeable washable masks. They won’t hv much time to wash & dry in time for next day use after cooking & showering fr long day of work.
