So 2B <1km has the benefit of balloting twice, in the worst case, am i right?

Also the number of 2B and 2C slots really depends on luck if that year has lots of siblings or alumni kids?
Surprised 2016 there was balloting only for >2km!!! 44 vacancies in 2B 2C each… how in history?!

Davischew, your DD currently in MGS? How did your year of admission worked out?

I would think being a girls school is less competitive than co-ed or boys schools considering the birth rate and gender stats … Also in my wild imagination many MGS grads end up very well to do and may reside overseas or choose not to have kids, or less kids, or by chance have only sons…

Not really a lot less Alumni in SCGS, it just happens I guess.

                    2019\t \t \t1A 2A1 2A2 \t2B 2C 2Cs\t \t \t

                    ↳ Vacancy\t170\t108\t23\t21\t21\t0\t-\t210
                    ↳ Applied\t62\t85\t22\t40\t32\t0\t-\t-
                    ↳ Taken\t62\t85\t22\t21\t21\t0\t-\t211

This was 2019, surprised at 40 people fighting 21 (2B) seats, and also so many people didnt get into 2C! 32 fighting for 21!!! That would be a shame from MGS immediately sent to BTPS 2Cs!

Just wondering, for those church members... Paya lebar MGS is a sure IN, why would they risk a chance to be balloted out for Bukit Timah MGS and risk going to Bukit Timah Pri? PLMGS is not too shabby, its well above average and a girls affiliated school too!! :please:

That’s because not everyone lives in the East / Northeast area. Also, PLMGS is not located near any MRT station, or major expressway / thoroughfare. That makes it less attractive if you don’t live nearby or drive.

Plus, PLMGS application is averaging > 60 vs MGS > 40. I would say it’s already attracting more than it’s fair share of church members.
