Hello! I’m a student here, taking psle this year. My current t score is about a high 230+ to 240. I’m hoping to boost it to a high 250+ to a low 260+ in these few months. My weaknesses are mostly math and Chinese, with math being relatively easy to improve, but Chinese not so much. I’m hoping to land myself in a IP school. Any advice for me to study ‘smart’?

For Chinese, analyze the paper section by section, see which are the areas that you lose marks. Depending on how you fare, some sections may be easier and faster to see improvements than others.

Eg. If your Paper 1 is already very high, to squeeze out another 1-2 marks will be difficult. If your essay score is low, find out what the problem is, then with more practice, it's possible to improve a few marks. Exactly the same goes for Oral. For Paper 2, if there is a particular section that you always lose marks, keep practicing that particular section in the assessment books.

        All the best. Jiayou!

              Hi, good morning.

For mainstream, there’s a rule of thumb formula to estimate PSLE score which is 0.73~0.75 * aggregate score for 4 subjects. So far I see quite a good correlation for elder DD and friends.
For GEP, anyone knows how to estimate? 😅 DS is in GEP with average score mid 80.
Assessing our chance in DSA and PSLE here.
              Appreciate any opinion. Thanks.

Look at the percentage for PSLE Chinese paper:

                Listening: 10%
                Oral: 25%
                Vocab(include Pinyin): 20%
                Reading Comprehension: 25% (include 书面互动、完成对话)
                Essay writing: 20%

Listening is most easy to handle, your school teacher's suggestions will be enough.
Oral could be prepared, your teacher should give you lots of vocabs and phrase. Do memorize these 固定句型和万能答案。
Essay part, I suggest you to take out all the essays you wrote in P5 and P6, and the 范文,read at least three times, highlight and memorize those good sentences. don't make the same mistakes. Of course, 千万别跑题,注意详略得当。
Reading: question analysis! question analysis! question analysis! Don't write lots of words, but no point at all. Just waste your time.
                PSLE的词汇量不是很大,must prepare!
                好运!加油!

Are any of your schools having extra lessons for P6 face-to-face on campus tomorrow onwards?

If this query is in reference to the 语文应用 (1st 15 mcq) section, then the estimated breakdown will be Pri 6 ~65% - Pri 5 ~25% - Pri 4 ~10%.

However, the words learnt can also appear as options in 短文填空 (5 questions in cloze passage - 5x4 = 20 options) and of course, as part of the passages in oral and paper 2.

4A syllabus alone has close to 200 phrases originating from 识读字 and 识写字. Also, in this new syllabus, a wide range of vocab is covered based on each chapter's theme, for example:
                        - Chp 4 canteen
                        - Chp 6 CCA
                        - Chp 7 civic mindedness (on public transport)
                        - Chp 8 road safety
                        - Chp 9 public facilities

These will come in especially handy in oral/compo writing. Thus, it is still advisable to read through and recap them - sieve out and identify the ones that the child is not sure about. Using the index page from the vocab handbook, this should be a fairly easy process. 😉
