Kids say the darnest things...

buds:
oh ya.. i should have expand from there...thanks for the tip!
It's amazing to know how this smarty pants DS1 of yours can always
think out of context. A future debator?
You should have gone
on to ask what kind of punishment would deem fit then?
Am sure it will spiral into more interesting theories.. :rubhands:
ability to think out of context? my general feelings are how innocent kids can be at such times.
have i mentioned this before?...there was a time when ds1 will leave his stuff/paper craftwork lying around the house. then i told him that whatever stray items (belonging to him) i found on the floor, i will throw it into the rubbish bin. the next thing i know, he threw some pieces of small paper on the floor and told me that he did not need it any more and that i can throw them into the bin.

On Wednesday, we had the air-con servicing guy come over to service/clean the air-con. The company uses some sort of chemical cleaning that involves steam cleaning the air-con .....
DS: I want to see Uncle steam clean the air-con
Me: Okie, come and stand next to me enar the door
After a few minutes ....
DS: mummi, why must call the uncle to steam clean the air-con?
Mummi: Because a lot of dust has accumulated and etc ........ (gave him a thorough explanation to the best of my ability)
After I finished, he kept quiet. Then suddenly ....
DS: mummi, why cannot use mummi's rice cooker to steam clean the air-con? Mummi put rice cooker near air-con .... put plug in powerpoint .... on button .... then steam can come out and clean the air-con.
Me: :!: then :faint: -
Autumnbronze, your kid is hilarious! But yah, why can't hah?

Every kid's dream huh?? :evil:the other day, ds1 was reading a book and that chapter involved the main character being suspended from school as he was seen threatening another boy (which was actually something else) with a pocket knife.
ds1 : mummy, what is the meaning of 'suspension'?
me : in this case, it means that the boy cannot attend school during that period of suspension cos he had done something wrong.
ds1 :? : no need to attend school? then the boy should be even more happy! what kind of punishment is this?!

Just went for my son's PTM mid this week. While the academics were good, he's apparently not been handing up work when he should. I asked him about it.
\"Well, it started after the March hols, before April. There was writing and I took a long time to complete my work. I decided not to hand it up because the teacher would get angry. But I wasn't caught! I kept not handing in without getting caught, so my neurons kept firing and firing, making a strong connection. Before I knew it, it became a habit. So now, I can't stop, \" he shrugged nonchalently.

Wahhhhh, Blobbi your DS's reasoning skills so imaginative, so cute lah ... I keep imagining 2 bolts of lightning-like thingees hitting together and causing sparks when I read that :rotflmao:But I wasn't caught! Actually, what he says does kinda make sense, how to respond back liddat :? -

After 7 years of training, I've also become quite the master at verbal taichi. I talk back in his very visual lingo. I asked him, can humans build houses? \"Yes.\" Can they demolish it? \"Yes\". So whatever you can build, you can destroy, right? \"(Scratch head) Yes\". Then I launch off into firing neurons for good habits, and if you don't fire the bad habit neuron, that connection will weaken and break off and that's how we forget.
Actually, what he says does kinda make sense, how to respond back liddat :?
Our friend says wide-eyed, \"Oh yes! How logical! I can do THAT!\" Actually, I'm just repeating the info that he told me before (pays to listen closely to what your kid says, chortle).
Gaotim sai ... that is, until the next one. :faint: -
after completing a revision SA1 math paper, ds1 asked his grandma to guess what was his score. his grandma guessed 80marks and he replied...
\"80marks at home fail already ah!! guess again!\"
