ksi, a thought just came to my mind. Why don't you team up with autumnbronze and organise a kite flying cum picnic session together at Marina Barrage since both of you were so tempted by the photos that I put up?

We can but autumnbronze enjoys her shroud of anonymity here so she may wish to preserve that.
:peekaboo: Shroud removed already wor .... after I met up with buds
ksi:
Yeah, sounds like a good idea :idea:Alternatively, we can arrange a day here for most of us to be there and we guess....whose who??? And if you are going again...I will look out for your \"Maidtalk\" bread and the NDP packaging for your picnic!!!! :celebrate:
Or we can all go at our own pace and time and post photos here thereafter ....
Wahhhhh, thanks to the both of you .... an old trend may be revived and end up being a fad once again :celebrate: -
:thankyou: Maid for sharing your kiteflying tips at the Barage and posting those wonderful pics. Makes me want to bring my family there for some kite flying fun too!!
Btw, your food pics were enough to make me drool. -

Haha, so now we have a record of at least 4 people who have been tempted by my not so professional pictures to want to make a trip to the Barrage for kite flying!
Not so professionally taken photos have attracted at least 4 people, then I am sure those professsionally taken photos would definitely attract even more people to want to make a trip there!
PUB had better pay me some commission!

Actually, I used to fly kite and kite fight with my neighbours in the past. We would dip the string in some glue and broken glass, and then \"fight\" with our kites by trying to cut each other's kite strings. Now, that was real kite flying.
Erhm... yes... was a regular tomboy then. Still am, I think :imanangel:
kekeke... -

Roger......don think we wanna be featured in the papers......for doing anything unmentionable at Marina Barrage...  :lol:ksi, I just thought of something with regard to your girl's suggestion to pitch a tent up on the field area. From my observation yesterday, I don't think this is allowed, based on the following 2 reasons :
1) if tent pitching is allowed, how is it I did not see any tents when I was there yesterday despite the scotching sun?
2) A family was sitting on a flattened tent as their ground sheet.
And I am not surprised if pitching of tents is indeed not allowed, after all, Marina Barrage is also one of our latest tourists' attraction, and can be quite unsightly if tents are allowed up in the field area.
Security is quite tight there too. Cisco and security guards were seen patrolling the place every now and then there I believe if any tents were spotted, the owners would have been asked to dismantle them.
So I think safer not to try, but to go earlier to reserve a good spot underneath the 'sail like structure' that I talked about. -
