Hi, is there a whatsapp group for this year RGPS P1 registration?
go by individual 2021 P1 classes.
1)
After you have enrolled your daughter successfully into Rgps, and
2)
After Rgps school have allocated the name of a Primary 1 class for your daughter, after the whole P1 registration exercise is over, then you join.
There will be a parents rep in charge of each P1 class, to invite other parents to join the same class whatsapp chat group. Parents rep themselves, can be
- from Phase 2A1 (alumni member), or
- from 2A2 (ex or former Rgps students themselves, several years ago) or
- from 2B (parent volunteer, inside Rgps) -
Hi parents, I understand that most schools, the students will change class when they go P3 and also P5. Any idea how they ‘re-organize’ their respective classes in rgps? Is it base on index numbers or results etc? I know some school, the 1st two classes are top students in the cohort. Just curious how rgps does the classification. Any feedback will be great.

I’m considering to apply my child into the school for next year P1. Any parent here can kindly share information on the school hours, school culture etc? She has a happy-go-lucky attitude, will there be lots of homework even in the pri 1 and 2. Thank you

RGPS does subject banding in P4 for Math and HMT based on P3 result. For other subjects, the girls will stay with their form class.

This thread seems very inactive but here's hoping for some answers.

I'm planning to do the same too. Though I'm really curious about the culture and the profile of students.
In the case of the latter, I'm just wondering if she will be able to \"fit in\".
My daughter, from what I can see now, is also pretty blase about learning and \"homework\". -
I have 2 girls, one is P4 and another one graduated in 2017 now in Y3 in RGS. Over the years, RGPS has changed - I would say a more holistic approach with "lesser" homework, "not as much emphasis" on result. I observed that the teaching is moving towards more higher order thinking , in line with MOE evolving syllabus - less is more - and not so much of "drilling" as the olden times. Though most girls aspire to perform well in both academic and other areas, I don’t feel that they are very "competitive". The learning environment is positive and caring. This is my personal experience for the last 9 years in RGPS.

I plan to enroll my girl in RGPS in next few years. We dont stay in the atas area of bukit timah or nearby the school. We are middle-income family. All my friends and family members warned me that the school is very atas and students are all high profile with social status. Will my girl get stressed out or will she be differentiated/biased from others? I would like to get some comments from the insider ie, parents with kids currently in the school. How is the school environtment like? Is what my family/friends warned me is true? and to what extent? Thank you in advance for your insight

In addition, i notice the traffic in front of the school is quite bad in the morning. Seems like its not a good idea to drive there. Is it practical to take MRT and walk to school?
