        Hi All.

I would like to have yr opinion. Currently I’m staying at mum place @Bukit Batok. We are waiting for our Bukit Panjang BTO keys which is supposed next yr Dec 2020. I’m having dilemma to register my son to Bukit Batok area or Bukit Panjang area. School transfer can be hassle, new environment, new friends etc… Do you think should I just register my son to my Bukit Panjang area near my BTO or go for Bukit Batok area?

You can register yr child based on yr BTO home so long as u hv papers as proof & u’ll hv to move in within 30 months fr time of yr P1 registration. Small difference of time gap can be understandable & I'm sure if u highlight to MOE.

From MOE website : The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In addition, you have to sign a letter of undertaking to move into the new property within two years of the child's entry into Primary One (P1).

          Hope this helps.

TBH which school to go for / which area to register is a very personal decision. It’s difficult to comment without knowing the background / facts / preferences etc. If purely based on convenience, and that’s assuming your parents aren’t your primary caregiver, Bt Panjang could be less of a hassle in the long run. If you envisage your presents taking care of your child / children for the next 4 years, then you would probably want a school near them.

Just wondering, since election is coming (some people guess July school holidays), any possibility that the GRC boundaries will be redrawn soon? Like just before phase 2B?

Already redrawn like a few months ago.

I don’t think it will affect this year’s registration.
