VooVoo:
I wonder if any has changed as a result of the change in principal? :?
not noticeable for the past 4 months, positively
at least for this initial 4 months she is seen to be very hands on to have a good grasp of what is on the ground
and she would have sat in quite a number of classes already -

from the few encounters, yes, approachable, and hands on to see an issue for herself so that she knows what is on the ground -
Is NYPS one of the 16 schools doing away with P1 exams?

May be can call up the school and ask
Personally I think doing away with exams will end up like some angmo countries which do not have exams and the standard of what they learnt will drop like a stone
exams is still a transparent and relatively fair basis to judge the learning progress of the kids....so far there is still no better instrument to measure learning progress (my own opinion only) -

My P1 girl already does not have exam this year. Think they will only have SA2 for P2. -
P2 only has SA2 this year. But they will have ‘holistic’ assessments throughout the year. Make up certain % towards year-end results.
Understand P1 & P2 will not have any SA starting next year. -
Heard that they try to "stream" students by P3 for purposes of preparation for gifted exams? Hmmm…any truth in this?

No position ranking of student in the class. However, if you ask the form teacher, the official answer is \"No\".
They can give you a range of the ranking, within the class as well as ranking in the cohort. Officially they don't do ranking....but how could it be ...... the performance of certain classes are within a very tight band.
But they do provide a detail list of subjects with their highest / lowest / mean / median scores and percentile range as well. For P5 & P6, they also include the individual t-scores of each subjects : highest / lowest / SD, etc
