It has been announced for those SHN & staying in hotels, the polling box will be delivered for them to vote at their doorstep. No chance to leave their rooms.
I am thinking whenever to bring my kids out for dinner or better stay at home -

Thanks! So there are SHN at home voters who are allowed to leave their homes for polling and they have to find their own way there! Think I better not bring my kids out for dinner. If such voters show up at the polling stations during the regular voting hours from 8am to 7pm, they will be turned away and asked to return between 7pm and 8pm.
During the special voting hour between 7pm and 8pm, there will be a smaller team of election officials manning the polling station. These officials will exercise additional precautions (e.g. don full personal protective equipment, sanitise polling
equipment and contact surfaces after every voter’s use). Details on the procedures during the special voting hour is at Annex B.
Voters who are well should avoid the special voting hour between 7pm and 8pm and keep to their recommended voting time-band. Should they turn up to vote during the special voting hour, they will still be allowed to vote as the law allows for voting from 8am to 8pm.
Persons on SHNs at designated facilities
For those on SHN at designated facilities, they will be allowed to vote at the designated facilities away from other voters, as provided for under the Parliamentary Elections (COVID-19 Special Arrangements) Act 2020. Polling and counting proceedings for those on SHN at designated facilities is at Annex C

To embrace new normal, we must not resort to lockdown again. CB mean burning past reserves, as simple as that. We have already spent 92B on covid specific measures to help the country/everyone, how many 92B we have in our reserves? I venture to say that we may have 1trillion [based on Temasek’s, MAS’s and to certain extend, GIC’s portfolio]. Seems like a big number but can easily be exhausted in a generation if not in a couple of decades. For context, we paid USD$1B for 12 F-15SG in our original contract. We now probably have 40 F-15SG [can’t wait to see some of them in NDP fly past!]. We have to constantly buying the top of the range military wares as we must have strong defence and we have to rely on latest technologies. We are now buying 4 F-35B at the cost of about USD$115m per unit. In 2020, the defence budget is $15.09B. We spent much more on healtcare and also considerable amount on education, security, and other national development needs. So, the reserves is not a bottomless pit and as we have no natural reserves, our monetary reserves is the only mean for others to have confidence in us as a country.
If we want to embrace new normal, don’t want further lockdown so that economy can function as per normal [that’s how we generate fiscal surpluses], then everyone who is covid positive must be traced, separated and treated. To do this, personally I think there is no other way but issue and mandatory the use of TT tokens or App for everyone. As always, this is not a popular move as in the eyes of the public, or certain segment of the public, the TT tokens or App will expose their precious privacy/movements to the authority. Sigh. However, they failed to realise that by using SafeEntry, they are also registering the places and time of their visits to certain places. It’s just that TT tokens and/or App would cover places without SafeEntry or the use of SafeEntry is not enforced strictly [eg, individual shops/stalls in the malls or coffeeshops].
Will the use of TT tokens or App compromises individuals’ privacy? The device is not going to trace anyone’s real time movement. The data can be retrieved only through the physical TT tokens or app. If nothing happen, the data will be purged automatically. Put it simply, the authority will retrieve the data from a positive case and others TT tokens or App that have made exchanges (in close contact) with this positive case will be notified for follow up. Other than that, the data will be purged automatically [I think once every 25 days to cover 2 incubation cycles?] so in all objectiveness, the authority is not interested in your movements unless you are in close contact with a covid positive case and, if I may add, for your own interest. Now that GE is over and obviously, the biggest fight in hands is the covid crisis and I hope there will be aggressive education to educate the public on TT tokens and App to allay the fear of ‘privacy’ issue. Everyone should carry a TT token or download the app. This is especially so when already, we can see that people seems to have a false sense of security thinking that wearing of masks is sufficient. It is not unless the masks are wore all the time and wore appropriately. However, we have allowed limited social gathering and droplets are freely exchanged over chit chat, meals, in the gym, at swimming pools etc.
Use of TT tokens and App is a must for new normal. -

GDP contracted 12% in Q2 due to CB. The dire economy consequences of CB is obvious and any reintroduction of such measures is going to make any recovery more difficult and prolong. For the sake of everyone in SG, please use TT token or App.

Thanks for sharing the article. We are in similar environment as described in the article, i.e, dense living. Such living condition is ideal for covid spread as evidenced by the outbreak in dormitories. We have somehow contained it but like what the article also mentioned, there bounce to have asymptomatic carriers spreading the virus unknowingly in the community. The article concludes that contact tracing is key which I can’t agree more. Therefore, I hope the use of TT token and/or app will be made mandatory soon.

If some elderly are not wearing their masks properly, I’m wondering if majority of population will rmbr to bring that extra token on their errands outing. Majority of population can’t leave home without a hp, elderlies may not navigate well with Safe-Entry app, and some ppl just don’t hv the data to support use of Safe-Entry use in public. Seems like a wearable type of token might work better. One that is small/thin enuf to use as a bangle?

SINGAPORE — An 18-year-old polytechnic student grew bored and wanted to see how his friends would react if he spat over the fourth-storey railing at Bugis Junction mall to the lower floors.
Only three weeks before, on Feb 7, the Government raised Singapore’s outbreak alert response level to Orange in light of the worsening Covid-19 crisis.
Cai Jiaxu went on to spit over the railing. Two of his friends posted a video of it on their Instagram accounts and deleted them sometime later, but the video had already gone viral online.

Friend forward me an article from Zao Bao, something like expert says we might need to go into another round of CB if daily cases cross 30.
Sure or not? Then in the first place don’t open up aircon gym, cinema lah and don’t organize GE!
I don’t think our economy can afford 2nd round of CB plus our ICU currently is at 0 (after the last patient passed on).
