With 76 vacancies for RGPS 2C, what is the chance of balloting and in what distance category? Does anyone have the past year information of breakdown based on distance in 2C?
This year TUR quite high, would probably need to ballot 1-2km.

2A1 eligible people will be eligible again in 2A2. I am not sure how effective on reducing vacancies in 2A1.

If 2a1 full, there wont be 2a2.

And there are those who are only eligible for 2a2 but not 2a1

I dont think they are really asking in relation to just those who are full as it really limit to 4-6 schools. I think darkicicle is trying to say is lesser goes to 2A1, so maybe those who have higher applicants will be resort to balloting and thereby result in those who stay near will go in and those cannot go in, will apply again and goes to the next pot with the 2A2 and again, distance will prevail.

Perhaps those who were requesting the limit in 2A1 are actually the ones who stay near, as alot 2A1 and 2A2 are actually staying beyond 2km.[/quote]What I wanted to point out was that “2a1 will again be eligible for 2a2” is not always true as “there are those who are only eligible for 2a2 and not 2a1 eg the children of staff and siblings 7 years or more apart”.

So if MOE were to split some places to 2A2, I may end up not having even a chance to ballot in both 2A1 and 2A2. So much so for being an alumni...

If vacancies are filled at 2a1, 2a2 wont happen at all. The next phase will be 2b, there will be no 2a2.

2A1 and 2A2, as the name implies, is part of the same phase. I think it’s quite certain MOE won’t transfer seats within the same phase because that would be illogical. However, whether they will up Phase 2B and 2C allowance in future, that remains to be seen.

Being an alumni already gives you a leg up over many others. Could be much worst.

If moving is as easy as buying grocery from the supermarket.

Not easy but should seriously consider. Travelling is a chore.
