But if she hadn't taken up a space, one more PR could have benefited.
Qn2: If all SC got in, you can move >2km. Rewind to registration day. if you were >2km, you will still get in since you are SC>2km priority over PR any distance. -

Yes she took up the space, but whether <1km or >2km, she will still get in. So she can move anywhere, it doesn't affect the priority, SC will still get in before PR.

the above although make sense, please have a check with MOE if really wants to know. I only managed to find below FAQ from MOE website. So definitely moving to the same or better distance will be allowed. As for SC/PR, need to check with MOE.
Below is from MOE FAQs:
Parents who move to a residence that is within the same home-school distance category as the declared address used for registration, can continue to fulfil the 30 months stay condition based on the new address. -
Hello seniors. I m using hp. Dun knw hw to reply n tag on that reply tat I m quoting.
In any case, i had the same understanding as davischew when I asked Q2. My interpretation is that distance was immaterial in this scenario. It was citizenship that was at play here. Hence, the 30 mths shouldn’t apply. But yeah, MOE has the final say so if I reali want the ans. I will chk with them. Phase 2C results only out 17 aug so I m sort of asking these questions in adv. Thanks to all for ur inputs! -

Child doesn't need to stay at Caregiver's place. It is for the fetching and student care etc., to be cared by more conveniently. After that go back to parents' place.
My point is the caregivers address falls within 1km it must be treated as such. Not group them/is with the 1-2km people. This rule shows a complete lack of common sense.Davischew\" post_id=\"1989454\" time=\"1596614488\" user_id=\"132882:
[quote=nonoriri post_id=1989453 time=1596614314 user_id=142921]Nope that doesn’t make sense. It’s already stated that the child has to stay at the caregiver’s place. So if the child is being taken care of by the caregiver, and the distance is within 1km how can it be magically changed to 1-2km.
You guys totally don’t get this don’t you. This is a lack of common sense and totally unfair.
No diff from Moe saying 1+1=3 and expecting us to accept it.
I think that it's reasonable.. \" parents' address\" is of higher priority ..as compared to \" caregiver\".
Some people have no caregivers for their kids. If you have caregivers who lives within the 2km of the school...you are already having an advantage over others. For example I stay beyond 2km ..and my kid already has a lower chance than those who kids with caregivers staying within 2km.
🤣
Then I GG. -
Do both parents need to have an address 1km within the school’s area?
I was thinking of renting a place under my name (and therefore only change the address on my IC) so that we can take care of our child from Mon - Fri and return to our home over the weekend/public holidays.
Thank you! -

U can check previous pages.. thought I read somewhere that both parents must have the same address (unless divorced).

This is actually playing with loop hole.. so if other parents know about it.. some might report...I read from this forum 😂 -

The default address that MOE will look at is the father’s IC.

But several parents have reported that school will also check the mother’s IC. If it doesn’t match with the father’s IC, then they will ask you why, any evidence of separation or divorce etc.
So don’t take the risk. -

However, you can rent a place for at least 30 mths with yr legitimate tenancy use that as yr P1 registration. You can choose to stay both at yr new address & yr weekend home :imcool: -
