Thanks, Davis. The Grassroot connect portal you mentioned, are you referring to the yearly enrollment for P1, which we will need to notify the cc to write a letter for my enrollment in year 2023 May/Jun? So once I have started my volunteery work, cc would be aware?
It’s a portal for GRL, not P1 registration. Apply for the letter in the portal and RC will pass the letter to you.

Hi, I’d like to understand if I am too late to apply for EM/GRL now for my DS who will be in P1 in 2023? Also can advice how to speed up the process to get EM status?

You are too late. Need at least 3 years before registration to start the process. 6-9months Observer, 2 years EM and some weeks/months for replies and consideration from PA/RC/NC

Oh dear. Looks like I missed it too. At this juncture for 2023 P1 enrolment, PV would be the only way for Phase 2B?

Hi there, I would like to share that you might not be too late. Depending on the RC or NC requirements, you may take as little as 7 months to go from Observer to being confirmed as EM by May 2021. The NC I was a part of required me to attend 3 of their bi-monthly meetings as an Observer (ie. total of 6 months), after which I was confirmed as an EM.

So I would say, the first step would be to just go to / call the relevant CC or PA and speak to the staff. Most of the staff are super nice, and they kind of know what the deal is with parents volunteering to be GRL. If you ask them straight up and share your timeline and concerns, they will either tell you it's too late, or will do their best to make it work in time for you. So speak with them first. All the best!
