Do both parents need to have an address 1km within the school's area?

I was thinking of renting a place under my name (and therefore only change the address on my IC) so that we can take care of our child from Mon - Fri and return to our home over the weekend/public holidays.

Both parents’ address hv to be same.

However, you can rent a place for at least 30 mths with yr legitimate tenancy use that as yr P1 registration. You can choose to stay both at yr new address & yr weekend home :imcool:

Hi, can someone please help to advice us urgently? We got our SC child into a school at phase2b with an address that’s <1km. But balloting for that phase only happened for SC>2km. it is ok to move to an address within 2km since balloting was only for those SC>2km.

Just noticed need to stayed at registered address>30 months(previous heard just requested at least lived 2 years address able for P1 register)
My case is current we are stayed at HDB within 1KM phase 2C balloting school, also informed secured for the school.
problem is we will move house afer Nov this year since new house under processing, and current HDB was sell out(also under processing).
My new house with current phase 2C school distance within 1~2KM & don't have >1km school for my new hours. don't know what I can do now.

It's hard to make the decision now, but i think you should withdraw from St. Hilda's (it sucks) and apply 2CS schools. It's not worth to risk with MOE. If yours is daughter, you might want to consider St. Anthony's Canossian, at least there's an affiliated Sec Sch.

Are you able to cancel the sale of your HDB at this point? Cos if you really move house before the 30 months is up, then MOE will have the right to transfer your child out of the 2C school. To somewhere with vacancies left in your area. She will still have a school to go to, just maybe not your own choice that’s all.
