All About Choosing Piano Schools And Teachers
-
i think the right age for kid to start learning piano is around 6 years old. 2 years old is definitely too small
-
i’ve seen those starting at 2.5 or 3 year having a head way in piano, and know performing well. it depends from family to family, the support at home and resources.

it depends from family to family, the support at home and resources. e.g. i followed this child - Alethea Ong, who received MEP scholarship from Raffles Girls’. she started when 3plus with a unfamiliar teacher - Sharon Wang, she is now the recepient of RGS’s MEP scholarship. -

The rate of piano lessons are varied depending on piano teachers qualification and experiences. Sometimes, the accessibility to the location of the piano student’s home is also a factor in the fees.
What is the usual rate for private individual beginner's lessons?

Prefer not to click on external links.[/quote]I think generally the market rate for teachers with full time qualification is around $60-80 per hour for beginner. Slightly more expensive around $80-120 if the teacher has Masters or more established. Cheaper if the teacher only has private Diplomas or Grade 8. Top up around $10-20 for home visit. Most teachers usually offer pro-rated fee for shorter duration lessons. Some also offer sibling and off peak discounts.

Hi parents and piano teachers lurking around here,
I will be starting a formal teacher training course aimed towards adults who wish to get into teaching or beginning piano teachers. It is an intensive and demanding course that will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach up to ABRSM Grade 6 comfortably. I will be doing the course preview this Saturday and next Tuesday for those who are interested; there will be a mini lecture based on one of the topics covered in the course to give you a taste of what you will be learning.
Course Preview@Smarthzy:
5 September, Sat 7.30pm-9pm
8 September, Tue 10am-11.30am
P.S. I understand that seats are very limited to Covid regulation and they are filling up fast according to my partner. So do reserve your place for the preview ASAP. Do visit my partner's Facebook page Smarthzy on how to register.
