So applications number are out excluding those online form. We will be using online form so have until tomorrow. Our options are:
Anchor green < 1 km - 39 vacancies 79 applicants. Very sure need to ballot
Palm view 1-2km - 62 vacancies 56 applicants. Anyone keep track from the previous phases proportion of pple using online form so we can gauge the balloting risk for palm view?

Previous years no online form, last day is walk-in. Palm View only 2018 fully taken up by 2C, other years at most 2CS ballot >2km. I think 1-2km should have good chance this year.

Saw from MOE website the next update is Wednesday 26 August. The updated info then will tell us if a school requires balloting and which group of people right?
Yes.

        Thank you Zac’s mum.

I tried looking for whatsapp group in Sengkang schools through the individual school’s forum here but no info/avail (at least for the non popular ones). Wondering how else to get connected or if anyone knows outside of this platform there are whatsapp group for p1 2021?

When orientation is being held, those groups will naturally be organized. For now, just sit back and relax.

I don’t really see the point in starting or joining a WhatsApp group of strangers who are from a whole bunch of unrelated schools, even if they are in the same vicinity. That’s just me.

If you’re looking for a specific school or class, then it’s easier to find or ask around.

I dont even see the point of joining a class specific WA group. I have never been in one because I think if there is anything impt, we will be informed by the school.

Oh it’s useful if u need to contact someone’s parent, u can ask to message privately. Or for arranging birthday party/play dates. I am very close with my ex-P1P2 mummies and we even had lunches together before pickups.

Of course, some parents only use it to ask for homework or spelling list 😆

I guess it is faster for arranging birthday parties (though one might have to form a separate chat group unless the whole class is invited) but it worked fine for me by giving out invitation cards then. I did have their numbers eventually, after a few birthday parties and projects, but never in a chat group. And yes, I imagine it can be really annoying when people use it for homework and spelling lists and asking what to wear for certain occasions and dismissal times etc. But yes, I am sure it is nice to form real friendships even when the children are no longer in the same class. My niece is in JC and their parents still meet up for “pri school class gathering” without the children because the children are no longer friends. Age makes people sentimental. 😂

Orientation is usually in November. Possibly in 3 months’ time there will be zero community cases already. So hopefully the kids can have face-to-face Orientation. Maybe limit to class-based max 30 or smaller groups, maybe no parents allowed in. My guess.

Hope your guess is somewhat right here and there cos I dont like the whole idea of e-orientation.
