I am a new GRL. From Grassroots Connect, it shows that I start serving from 19 July 2020. I have a child going for P1 in 2023, so the registration will be in 2022. Do you all think I can still fulfill the 2 yrs EM and apply for the cert to be eligible under phase 2B? The deadline is really tight because of no activities during covid period hence the conversion from observer to EM was delay. Hopefully I'm still on track.....

Seems like you will be a couple of days short, which means you won’t be eligible.

Oh dear.... this is so disappointing..... 😢 do you think seek MP's help will be helpful in this case? It's just 18 days difference...

Hello, I have go through a number of recent pages but couldnt find an answer to my question and the earlier pages not sure if the policy is still the same almost 10 years later.

May I check on the following:

I have submitted the volunteer registration form about 2 weeks ago and did a follow up subsequently, was told that I would be informed when there is a committee meeting.
May I know if this is the correct path to take?
How often is the committee meeting ?
Is joining the committee meeting already considered under the observation stage?

          Thank you.

Meeting usually monthly, not sure situation now if there are changes in some RC/NC. If you attend the meeting, usually means observer already, you can ask when you attend. It might take more time since now situation causes delay in processes.

Thanks for the info. So after observer then will be EM and required to be EM for at least 2 years before the registration, so all in all 3 years in advance is a good timeline to start? Is it all EM with 2 years of service is able to get the Phase 2B letter or only some who meet a certain criteria?

                  case by case

                  18 days ... or 10 days or 20?
missed cut off = missed cut off
there is no end point if the cut off can be pushed back by xx days....
if approve you, then the 20 days missed person will come nag the MP
                  then the 25.

And the answer we got was, there has to be a cut off, so there will be people who will miss by a day, whichever date that has been chosen as the cut off. And we think this is a fair and reasonable response.

Firstly, when referring to Grassroots matters, you turn to the advisor and not the MP (it’s easy to get them confused, but my friend, who is the advisor of the constituency GRO, is not the MP).

Second, it’s PA policy and the stand, so far, is - missed, means missed.
