      Tamarind,

Is the Phonics class the every sat one which ur girl used to attend?
      kai,
Yes I used to send her there every Sat afternoon.

I have not heard of Edufarm.

Have you tried teaching your girl phonics yourself ? You can try the following free websites :

      http://www.starfall.com

      or use the Leapfrog DVDs.

Remember to also start a reading scheme with your girl, phonics alone is not sufficient šŸ˜‰

what does yr child learn when in nursery? i suppose there are homeworks too? its a dream come true to have a pcf like that.. plus the weekly reports to know what your child is doing in school..

Yes I am very happy to find a PCF which is good value for money šŸ˜‰

For N2 class, they learn mainly the alphabet and numbers. They do worksheets and practice writing letters and number everyday, not drilling, less than 10 letters or numbers a day. They mostly learn through play. They also read regularly from simple books like this.

This is the reading checklist given to the parents after completing each book.

Here is one of their newsletters to parents.

They also have Chinese lessons every day. They learn to read and write very simple Chinese characters, and also read a number of Chinese story books like these. They also learn to recite Tang poetry.
