There have been no ICU cases and number of fatality remained at 27 for many days! Meanwhile, cases in hospital and community care facilities continue to drop too. Transmission of cases in the community also remain low and at times, there are none for days. Against these backdrops, we are able to slowly resume daily routines and as can be seen at many heartland malls, people are back! So happy for the small businesses and staff operating at the neighbourhoods.

Initially, we all panic and don't know what to do. We stock up toilet papers, instant noodles, cooking oils etc as we believed that supply chains will be disrupted. We were torn between wearing masks or not, even among experts they had different views. Some segment of the society even think that GE will accelerate the spread of the virus though personally, I think a lot who didn't think so was promoting such narrative too for individuals' agenda.

We are now in the new normal. The relevant parties had help and ensure that the supply chains remain functional. Many would take this for granted but at times, it would be nice to acknowledge and recognise the efforts put in by the people behind the scene. For SG, it is crucially important that the outside world view us as stable and united. These are about the only things we can offer, as we do not have any natural resources that we can monetised.There is no reason to invest in SG and set up shops here if we do not have a forward looking leadership, a united people and the sizeable monetary reserves that generate confidence for our people as well as to the world at large.

The covid fighters have been fighting hard at the frontlines. Now the TT tokens will be rolled out nationwide from 14 September. Contact tracing is key in the covid fight. With low fatality rate, if every positive case can be traced speedily, treatment can be given and hopefully, one can then quickly recover without going through intubation. In such scenario, we can normalise the economy and life even further. Perhaps we can start allowing tourists to come in and this would help many tour bus drivers, tour guides, ticketing agents, airlines, luggage handlers, hotels, Sentosa, etc.

Let's support the covid fighters and make their job easier by using TT tokens, TT app, SafeEntry, wear mask, reduce size and length of social gathering.

For those who are familiar with Novena Square, you will know what I am describing shortly.


One morning, while I was going to exit from Novena Square Velocity. I noticed the mall was unusually quiet at the stretch of shops, Soup Spoon / TYPO/ Cotton On/ MOS burger etc. and felt sorry for those shops.

Then I realized the entrance/exit points at MOS Burger, as well as the the one at Old Chang Kee/Money changer, have all been fenced off and I had to make a U-turn to go back to the main entry point.

No doubt businesses had been hit by reduced tourism, but the closing of many entrance/exit points in malls, have directly affected businesses. I could have bought MOS burger while on my way out if the exit door has not been shut. And I believe these shops could have paid premium rental due to their strategic locations while now, these have become “deadends”.

Not sure if people realize that Safe Entry has indirectly affected businesses of many shops.

I just realized that SingPass Safe Entry now has a very useful report that tells you whether you have been in the same places as confirmed Covid cases. Apparently they match all the Safe Entry check-in logs and see if there’s any overlap & generate this report.

This is one of the possible career paths for Medical Technologist poly diploma. The research team who created the diagnostic kit (based on the RNA sequence data provided by China) would have consisted of a head researcher (PhD+experience), plus several research scientists (PhD, Masters, Bachelors) - Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences field.

Not a glam industry nor one that pays well.

I find it lehche to carry anything extra. I had installed tracetogether & carrying sth extra just makes it easier to forget to pack into any of my bags. Guess it sounds like my man also don’t like. Makes me more like a man?

Is yours an Adroid phone? Does the TT app drain the battery fast? That's what I heard. I haven't installed it, and am wondering whether to try to collect the token or download the app.

Men carry most things in pockets, so an additional item is an issue. I would just leave it in my handbag?

I think I will just collect the token and leave it in my handbag. For the app to work, one must switch on the Bluetooth?
