HC Bukit Timah Y2019 P1. All are 2hr Higher Chinese textbook class. Class size=12. There are CCTVs in each (~11) classroom so anyone can stand at the reception area & observe the lesson situation.


Good quality materials. For 写作班 (CCW), every lesson comes with a Comprehension piece (mostly compre oe), and a writing piece (pictures, helping words, model compo), (probably) no Oral component(?). No draft 2 required.

Elite class is open to only Higher Chinese students scoring >80%. Evidence (SA2 score) is required for entry.

a)

in one month (there are 4 lessons, in a month) -
compare the Total number of zuowen lessons written at Hua Cheng vs. written at HCL, compare the difference.

choose the one, that gives your child : more zuowen practice exposure.


b)
check -

for each zuowen lesson, after your child had written :
does Hua Cheng automatically give your child a model answer, for the previous week's zuowen topic written ?

if No, then ask yourself this key question -
how do you expect your child to improve in his essay (her) writing, if no model zuowen, to refer to ?

Hello bigmama. HuaCheng is similar to Wang Learning Centre - weekly Composition writing, model composition, Comprehension (Open-Ended), big class size. The pictures accompanying the composition can be brought home. It is the next best thing to Wang Learning Centre!


However, if you prefer an all-in-one course covering Composition, Comprehension and.Oral, small class size, then HCL Education is better. But they do not write a Composition each week (COC course).

Hello again bigmama. No worries... I was going to edit that post to include - > the HuaCheng information I had explored is based on their CCW course, which does not cover textbook vocabulary or Oral in the 2hours. The other course they provide is the ACE course (强化班，handout says: 课本知识，阅读理解，口语训练，听力写作, etcetera), which I had not looked at in details.
