Volunteer for 2 schools ? Unless you have so much free time or one of the spouse not working..is not easy..my wife and me did the volunteer work for a whole year..there are two categories - cat A and cat B - cat A is something you do regularly such as traffic warden..cat B is something you fight to get the opportunity...

Yes, we plan to volunteer in 2 schools. Our work schedule can be flexible and we are willing to commit to increase the chances...

Before having a child, the thought of PV or shifting house means so foreign to me.. now it's time to really panic :nailbite:

You should apply to more than 2 schools. If more than 2 get back, you can pick and choose.

Why limit yourselves to only 2 PV applications? Just send as many as you’re interested in.

Similar process to sending out resumes. It’s all similar template anyway. Modify per school as you wish. Then blast them out.

Whoever replies, it’s like striking gold. Then u pick where you want to serve your time at.

hi i m new here. My first post here. Do they choose the PV according to the parents occupation and educational qualifications? Do they ask for supporting documents? As i m a SAHM and i have lost some of my certs in the process of moving a couple of times. Anyone went for SCGS or RGPS PV and got admission? Need some help here. Panic mode on…

I am not sure whether the PV jobs are similar for other schools. The problem is with the Cat B category work. Cat A is something that is fixed, every week…Cat B is irregular n adhoc. Is more for volunteering say for Children day, Chinese New Year celebration, etc…u have to fight for it. The school can send u a Whatspp message n within 1 minute, they are filled up as many parents just volunteer immediately. U don’t even have time to apply leave…u just immediately respond when u get the sms n then apply leave with your boss. U might end up not getting enough time to fullfill the cat B jobs…this is for the school my wife n I volunteered last year

Theoretically u can volunteer as many schools as u want but whether u can fullfill the school PV requirement is another thing

Also for every phase, u can only apply for one school, so no point to do volunteer job for 2 or more school. That is personal opinion

If you aim for highly balloted 2B schools, you might want 2 choices in case on last day, 1 of the school has too many applicants if you still can check live stats. Then you have another choice.

Anyway the school that I volunteered already told us that there is no guarantee we can get a place even if we fullfill our hours but most of time those completed n met their requirements will probably be accepted. True enough my son able to get a place in p1 next year. In fact all the PV parents got a place…so key thing is get a PV job from one of the school u want first…shit this year the p1 registration is so so competitive…

Normally for those very highly balloted school they will really cap their PV intake

                        Anyway is a good experience…for example i

Managed to get some PV work during Chinese New Year, Cultural day n during last year Nov19 Orientation day…so i know what to expect during this Nov school Orientation day. The school also allow continuous volunteering for parents who like to continue for those adhoc work…so that give parents opportunities to see how their children doing from time to time
