not sure if anyone here can read this ST article, or know, what is \"the move\" that SHHK took to make it less competitive?

https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/education/hokkien-clan-group-sets-standard-for-parent-volunteers

also, i would just like to understand, if there is known differences in the standards of the five SHHK affiliated primary schools.

I am also curious to understand some of the rationale of parents who choose SHHK affiliated primary schools over, say, other primary schools that has secondary school affiliation that might help the kids a little further down the road.

my initial first thoughts was to find my child a primary school that has affiliation to a reasonably good secondary school, and even better if that secondary school is affiliated with a JC. so i have done that part of the research and shortlisted a few schools that i wanted to try. i started looking at SHHK schools, because i am a hokkien, and the shortlisted schools i thought of initially i have been thrown a lot of cold water by friends also (nanyang primary and st nics). then when i started looking at Tao Nan, cos even if i have to move, i dont have to move to very far places, i live in east side and its still near my parents. then i got thrown cold water again. lol.

Appreciate any sharing!
