Interestingly, I just found out that kids above age 7 can collect their own token. Probably need to hang around their neck to prevent loss.

I like the current SingPass Safe Entry QR scanner function cos can check in all the kids together with you. Too bad with the upcoming new TT compulsory check ins, can’t do that any more.

Expect bottlenecks at crowded entry points while everybody takes turns to scan their own device. Haizzzz

What about young kids with no hand phone? Can parents scan them in using the Trace Together app?

Sorry don’t know as I don’t have the app. Heard it can’t run well on iPhone so I didn’t download.

The TraceTogether app works pretty well on the iPhone now. The first few versions were terrible but I use it now because the QR scanning is quite fast. It is always running bluetooth so phone battery dies faster, I use my portable charger even more now. But I’m happy with using my phone than having an extra token… For children without phone or elderly I guess there’s little choice. Hope the kids don’t lose it…

Today is my mum’s 1st experience with using the TT token.

She told me TTS Hospital does not accept the token so she had to use IC and handphone to enter. And inside TTSH, she went to Kopitiam Foodcourt to dabao, the Foodcourt also does not recognize the Token so she had to use her HP to scan in!

I think they are only piloting the TT token for entry at cinemas at the moment. Using if for entry to all public places isn't heppening yet - I think they said by end of the year? Let me look for the article.

                      ST 20 Oct:
By the end of December, checking in with the TraceTogether app or token will be mandatory at all popular venues, including restaurants, workplaces, schools and shopping malls, as Singapore prepares to enter phase three of its reopening.

It means members of the public will no longer be able to gain entry to these places by scanning SafeEntry QR codes with their phone cameras, or through the SingPass mobile app or barcodes on their NRIC. SafeEntry is the nation's digital check-in system mandated at all these places.

They must instead use either the TraceTogether app or token.

Mandatory use of TraceTogether will start at cinemas, which is among venues with activities that involve larger groups of people.

Ya now the token only for few places , lucky that the market , neighborhood mall my mum went to are the pilot places to accept entry now. Hopefully can roll out to more places by next month? Or else carry token is a “hassle “
