I've been a SAHM for 2 years already. Still adjusting but I think I'm doing fine. Boy is 2 years old and girl gonna be 4 mths old. I do have a maid to assist me with hosehold chores & cooking.

Colleagues have been telling me to spend time with my children rather than going back to work (I've been working for 16 years!). Well...I confess I miss teaching but there's no one to help look after and putting them in childcare is still too early.
I shld say my hubby is really supportive

So glad to see this thread...

I quit my job six mths ago and did not look back since.

It was a juggle to work and study PT course, and at the same time looking after a 5yo and 2 yo kids at home. I hardly have the time for my kids due to the demands of work and studies.

Decided enough is enough when I was close to burnout, I gave up the job and focus my time on study and kids instead. I feel so much happier now.

Thank God my hubby is doing ok in his career, and is supportive of me being a SAHM. Eversince, my bond with my children grow stronger and I am happy that I can be there for my kids whenever they need me. πŸ™‚

            bliss,
            welcome onboard!
            what course are you studying?
Previously, I was preggy with ds2 during the last 6mths of my PT course. Not really taxing then, cos I was already serving my resignation notice and was staying back to help my boss on an adhoc basis. MIL was taking care of ds1 all along. That time seems to be the best cos it's like having my cake and eat it all - ie still studying, have job, have kids, have time for dh. Now without a job, save for the reduced in income/interactions, still, I am lovin' it. πŸ˜‰

The other day, my MIL offered to let my dh stop giving her monthly allowance when we shift out in the next few months cos she said that we need to take care of added expenses that comes with owning our own place and cos I am not working yet. then dh promptly replied that i am not going to go out to work anymore. :!: ....he already decided for me leh.

                  Hello all SAHM...

I have been a SAHM for 1.5 years. Quit my job when I was 5 months pregnant. Had enough of office politics, back stabbing and boss favoritism...also two miscarriages in the same office. Finally come to sense when I got pregnant again. Now, I am a happy mum at home, bonding with my 2 kids. My young one just turned one. I hope that I can make some friends here...

Any SAHMs here doing part time job?

Has been a SAHM for a few years and is now starting to get bored and crazy at home all day. It’s like I don’t have a social life now (since most of my friends are also working and have their own families).

Though I manage an online-business, but am thinking of doing a part time job next year when DS1 goes to P1. Wonder if it will be hard getting a part time job (preferably in the afternoon, so at least I will be at home with DS1 in the morning), and if my experience running the ecommerce website will be helpful?

                      Thanks

Welcome to the SAHM Club! Me also looking to make some good friends here. I'm a mum of one to-be-3 yo, so hoping to get together with some mummies who also have 1 or or 2 kids so that me and my DD can make some friends. I feel she is too lonely sometimes...
