MOE/SEAB does not allow any student to take both Geog and Hist in upper sec

This is not true, then and now. If both History and Geography are not allowed to be taken together, then this is a restriction imposed by the school, not by MOE or the exam board. From what I can see, RGS allows Geo + History.

Sorry, I stand corrected! I was thinking of O levels - and yes, you're right - it could be a school-imposed restriction, but a widespread one. RGS may allow it since they have they have more autonomy. But I think RI does not allow (or strongly discourages) both subjects to be taken together for A levels.
You can take Geo and History for O levels then, like back in the 80s.
You can take Geo and History for O levels now.
You do not need special autonomy to let the students take Geo and History for O levels.
If any school does not allow it, it is their own decision — both O level streams and IP.

We are all saying the same thing, 😄 one cannot take ELit+Geo+History in this school. It was a very specific question.

Any running track in the school compound?

Thanks
The school starting time is always 7.30am except Thursday’s where it’s late day (for normal years) but since there’s COVID there’s no more late day so everyday will start at 7.30am. Dismissal timings are not confirmed and varies with timetable, usually around 1.30, but sometimes it’s 12.30 or 2.30
Trying to find out more about RGS before the PSLE results (and if results are good enuf). What will you say is the culture of RGS? Strong character building for the girls? Are opportunities for overseas trips/competitions difficult to come by - as in only for those outstanding gals or reserved for those DSA gals. Will an average gal feel inferior/not good enuf in the school? DD is quite shy and does not like limelight so will the environment be suitable? Will they learn a lot of public speaking and grow out of their shyness? Thank u.

Also, what are the girls like? Very competitive or helpful and look out for one another? Strong community spirit?

RGS has a long history of nurturing the best and brightest girls in Singapore, be it academics or others( but you need to get in with good academics otherwise it will be struggle).
Most of the girls schools will have strong character building, not only RGS (NYG,MGS,SCGS, Cedar, SNGS etc)
Equal opportunities for all for oversea trips/competitions, there might be selections but everyone can try.
DSA gals will of course be expected to join competitions related to their DSA criteria, but does not mean shoo in.
There are no average academic gals in RGS, its the top 2 girls sch in SG.If you qualify via PSLE, you are way above average.
First 2 years the gals will be in the same class, most classes are mixed DSA/GEP/RGPS/NYPS/MGS as much as possible
Then there are houses which they will be inducted into for the 4 years. So if your gal is willing to make friends, I am sure she will be fine.
There will be competition no doubt but some are just chill, most of the gals are very helpful to each other and forge quite strong bonds.

Don't let your fears get in the way , if RGS accepts her I am sure she can do well

Good luck on your DD PSLE results

Hi, I have a question about the classes. Do they put all the top students in one class or do they spread everyone across all classes? Thank you!

There are some comments from Jan 2019 (page 623) that indicate all of the classes are mixed now. Hopefully, someone with firsthand knowledge can confirm for you (I cannot).

Yes, all the classes are mixed; there’s no banding in Year 1 or Year 3. Some classes will have girls taking same MT or HMT. Some girls from specific demanding CCAs may be grouped in the same class, eg rhythmic gymnastics. But generally, pretty well mixed.
