Yes do agreed with QMS that RMPS would be quite a stressful environment. I had spoken to the previous Vice Principal which he also agreed so. Maybe P1 1st semester is still honeymoon period, student Museum tour, zoo tour, LTA gallery etc.


Heard ZDPS is quite a relax environment where they do not have P1 examination.

DS1 is registering for P1 next year and I have always been in a dilemma over choosing ZDPS or RMPS. Both are within 1km but ZDPS is within walking distance whereas RMPS need to take bus. I can register for either school as DH is GRL, so we have priority. Wondering if we should let DS1 relax and just go to ZDPS or give him a little push by enrolling him in RMPS :?

It is actually the same for me. ZDPS is walking distance and RMPS is 1 bus stop away. But will be choosing RMPS during registration this year as we did PV. There are mixed opinions on ZDPS among my neighbours. One of them whose daughter was in ZDPS told me the school was quite good in overall development. The girl also did quiet well in PSLE - ard 260s last year. But another of my neighbour whose son is in ZDPS regrets not putting him in RMPS. I guess overall it would come to the kids character and your preferences when it comes to choosing the right school. All schools will have some satisfied and happy students and some not so happy students after all.

Guess the majority of the parents would select the following perference of the schools as folow;


(1) RMPS, RVPS or CHIJ (Kellock)
(2) ZDPS
(3) GESPS
(4) BRPS

Seriously speaking, there are not much primary schools in Bukit Merah & Central area.

Actually, why don't you visit Zhangde during their open house? They have an open house on the first Saturday of July. Take a look at the place and speak to the Principal or Vice Principal. Gauge for yourself how much you like the school, etc.

Thanks. Have been to their open house before and quite like what i see in terms of school enviornment and the feel of the whole place. Will probably check it out more thoroughly this time. Have not been inside RMPS though. Any idea if there's going to be opne house?

We put both our sons in ZDPS. The younger one is currently in P1 in ZDPS while the elder one has transferred out to another school due to being selected for the GEP.

We really like the school environment and the culture of ZDPS.

If you are very focused on the academic aspect of your child, RMPS is probably a better choice. ZDPS does not drill the children much, in fact, they are among the rare schools which do not conduct exams for the Primary 1 kids!

However, if you prefer your child to be in a less stressful and more holistic learning environment, ZDPS is good

RMPS shifting over 1 year for major work? What we heard from the Principal that there would be 2-3 added buildings, the school would remain as it is. I don't think is a major construction which requires the demolition of existing RMPS.
