My child is born in yr 07 and I stay within 1km of South View which is my No1 choice for pri sch.

Pls kindly advise do I need to do PV to guarantee my child can get into the school? If yes when should I apply to do PV. Also what can I do to boost my chances of getting the PV?

Hope that parents who have done PV there can share their experiences with me.

To answer ur question, no one can be certain what would the scenerio be during ur child's year of registration, would be in 2013. But based on past historical statistics, SV typically balloted under phase 2C for those staying within 1km. So, you would most probably need to do the same in 2013.

To increase ur chances, you can apply as a PV and qualify under phase 2B. However in year 2009, SV also balloted for those who stayed within 1km under phase 2B. Which means if the same thing happens in 2013, your chances of getting in, although much improved, is still not 100% guaranteed.

Not too sure whether SV is restricting its PV intake which is what most popular schools do nowadays to reduce the chances of disappointing parents who do PV work.

Anyway need to be a PV before Jul 2012 to qualify for 2013's registration. All the best.

I tried to apply for Red Swastika PVS but was not successful…any way we can appeal?

I recently submitted my PV application to St Hilda. I rec'd their acknowledgement & will be informed of outcome in jul/aug.

Anyone here has the same reply? I saw someone has got acceptance in earlier post in Apr & someone was rejected. What's my chance? .... :?:

Hi Jav,
P1 registration is round the corner. Schools are now busy preparing for this. Besides, it's the school holidays now. I suggest you call up the school when school reopens or else in Sep when the registration process is over.

No. Being an ex-Student already allow you to register in earlier phases.

I understand your concern.
You can try calling the school after 2 weeks or else end June when school reopens. That worry of chalking up 40 hours is indeed a big fear for PVs.
