      Hi,

Has anyone engaged child psychologist Dr Wilson Chan or used the Gifted Lab @ Balmoral Plaza for ADHD assessment or full cognitive test? Charges sound more reasonable than others but not sure the level of accuracy.

Does anyone have a child with ADD( day-dreamer type)? Would you be able to share your experience or get in touch with me? I think my DD is in this category and have been reading a lot on this and am very confused at the moment. Many of the posts here shared experiences with ADHD( with hyperactivity).

Appreciate your valuable input on the above. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing, August22! I work closely with The Gifted Lab. Would you mind elaborating on what your friend's experience was like? I could pass on the feedback to them. 🙂

Gifted Lab is operated by both husband and wife team. Husband was the psychologist, who was very impatience....result inaccurate too.

There are a lot of parameters to find out whether the child has ADHD or not. If you consult a psychologist they have these testing methods to find out.

Does anyone in this forum have a recommendation for Math tutor for a P3 going P4 ADD boy? DS is very poor in Maths, struggles to understand it but we do not know if he has a learning difficulty specific to Math.

Also I saw Olive Tree, The Gifted Lab and DAS International offers specialised tutor. Anyone has experience with these?

Children with ADHD may also struggle with low self-esteem, troubled relationships and poor performance in school. Symptoms sometimes lessen with age. However, some people never completely outgrow their ADHD symptoms. But they can learn strategies to be successful. Need Any help with an expert: https://zealthy.in/en/ask-an-expert

ADHD is a neurological disorder and not a behavioural problem. It is not caused by bad parenting, too much sugar intake, nor too much games. The kids find it hard to focus on things and easily forget which makes it hard for them to finish their tasks. They can’t manage their time and keep losing their things, like pencil, eraser, their student card.

If identified & diagnosed in early childhood, cannot be trained with support fr family to train the habit of discipline & focus?

On the other hand, even with a neurological cause, training and support can help build good habits and reduce the issues, at least to some extent. The person will always have more difficulty that others, but reducing the effects will help them cope with life better.

Medication combined with therapy is the optimal treatment of ADHD in children. But the medication alone is also effective and more recommended for the treatment. Of course, the family is their first and main therapists. Therefore, supportive parents also play an important role to improve their behaviours
