So far DD had been very free since PSLE completed, any recommendation of SEC 1 English assessements book or other relevant books?
Thought lanaguage wise would be easier to get from popular compare to other subjects.
Just want to make use of the school holidays otherwise keep playing mobile phone whole day also not healthy.

Attending secondary school open houses in a pandemic
Open houses can be a good way for prospective students and their parents to find out more about the culture, facilities and extra-curricular activities a secondary school has to offer.
This year, more than 120 secondary schools will also be conducting their open houses virtually to minimise intermingling and the risk of infection amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some activities and programmes include virtual tours led by students, live question-andanswer sessions on social media platforms as well as sharing of videos featuring testimonies from parents and alumni members.

The PSLE results come out tomorrow. Whatever the outcome, our students deserve a big pat on the back for reaching their first education milestone – with many more to come. It is also an event that often brings parents and child closer together.

The results of the 2020 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) will be released tomorrow (Wednesday, 25 November 2020).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, school candidates will collect their results from their classrooms instead of the school hall from 11am onwards.
This decision was made to give pupils \"the opportunity to be with their classmates and consult their teachers face to face on their next steps\" when collecting their results, said MOE.
Due to the younger age of PSLE pupils, a parent or guardian will be allowed to accompany their child or ward to school to collect the results. However, they will need to wait at designated areas in school and observe safe management measures while the pupils receive their results in the classrooms.
Pupils who are unwell or are on quarantine order, stay-home notice or leave of absence on the day of the results release should not return to school to collect their results.
Instead, they may view their results online on the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board's (SEAB) results release system from 11.30am next Wednesday, with a password that they have received from their schools.
The system can be accessed from next Wednesday till Dec 8. -

Will the marking system be more generous and lenient, taking into consideration the kids sitting for the national exam during the midst of a pandemic? I'd prepared a pep talk timed for delivery just before my son collected his Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results last month.
It was meant as a final booster to affirm his efforts, give hope and soften the blow if things went south: It is not his score that determines the path ahead, but what we make of it. And no matter what number shows up on the result slip, it changes nothing - not how much we love him, not how much he's worth as a person, not how much game time he's allowed.

Around me, parents were choosing to focus on the positives - an unexpected A, say, or just having survived the year of relentless drilling and pressure - instead of dwelling on a lacklustre T-score.

As it turns out, the exam is not just a test of our children's academic abilities, but also of our parental fitness.
Can we be the voice of reason and source of hope our children need in times of distress?
Can we set aside our own hurt and disappointment to soothe theirs when our expectations go unmet?
M definitely aced it. And from what I saw, so did many of us. -
