Sigh…still waiting for my dd’s primary school to provide documentation for her achievements for 2010 so that I can apply for the dsa.

she is a prefect, represented school for interschool science quizzes and competition, SYF etc and yet her FT insists her P5 and P6 results are sufficient. :x

Kbv, sigh, sometimes the teachers are not very well informed. My DD1’s ft also told the class that DSA is only for those students who most likely not get very good PSLE results! So outdated ! Many IP schools are recruiting abt 1/2 of total places during DSA. Her ft is also very reluctant to give out testimonials. I’m waiting for NYGH to send me the Bilingual Olympiad cert for the top 30 scorers (I only got the certificate of participation; during the prize giving ceremony they mentioned sending a cert to our addr) . I’ve got everything photocopied but waiting for that only ONE cert !! Anybody receive anything yet ??

They are different schools and have different decision makers regarding DSA process, they did not consult each other, hence the difference in requirements and process.

BUT their students all converge at HCI year 5. That is why the disparity in unfair. By the way, the share the student pool for those SMBO top scorers, and SMBO is organised by NYGH, feeding students to HCI as well. They are certainly \"co-ordinated\"

I don’t think it is unfair. But if you feel so, you may feel the same way when you know that even though the students converge in Year 5, their school syllabus in Year 1 to 4 in NYGH and HCI are not identical, not to mention many other different school activities.

if they present themselves as the same family of schools, then they should be consistent in their requirement, just like other boy / girl schools that present themselves as a same family of schools

May be originally they are not a family; that’s why the 2 schools seem to run separately. when we attended the NYGH open house, I asked the girls whether they can swim in hwa chong swimming pool and they gave me a "blank look" and said no. dunno if there’s any communication bet nygh and hci on their first 4 yrs; hopefully the girls can integrate well when they move over in yr 5.
