      Hi parents

Any parents care to share if there is any criteria I need to look for in secondary school if my son took Foundation Chinese for PSLE?[/quote]
Have a read of this article from way back in year 2010. The quoted secondary schools offering CL \"B\" syllabus could have changed since then. Best to double-check with your latest Choosing Your Secondary Schools booklet (look out for \"Chinese B\" under the heading \"Subjects Offered\"), to double-confirm before you list them as your 6 choices:

        Thanks Zac’s mum.

As I read more I realised there is Chinese syllabus B and Basic Chinese. I wonder what is the difference?

Many thanks for your explanation and it help clear the confusion. I can’t read Chinese hence not able to understand the link on MoE website.

My son is in NA. I understand from one of the sharing session with a school Q&A he will do Normal Chinese unless the school offers syllabus B at lower secondary.

Don't mention it, Queen or Maid.

Yup, he'll be doing CL (NA) unless he applies for CL (B). I had a student with mild special needs who took CL in Pri school but managed to apply for CL (B). He went to Bedok View Sec (NA stream) and attended CL (B) lessons at St Hilda's Sec once a week after school.
