my son score 241, high chance get in AHS? i stay at sengkang, fernvale. do you think i should consider Maris Stella at first?
Anglican High is a SAP School. You did not mention whether your son took HCL and his HCL score.

Assuming 241 is already inclusive of HCL, his chance is high. However, do make sure you have other good choices in case AHS COP increases for 2021 intake.

      All the best! :rahrah:

      2020 - 241
      2019 - 239
      2018 - 239
      2017 - 238
      2016 - 238

May I know if it is still the case this year where students will be forced to drop HCL at Sec 3 if the Sec 2 year end results is not good? Are they looking at Sec 2 Chinese results or also overall results? If so, is the passing mark still at 50% for HCL like what was shared?

Or is it just discouraging but students have the final decision to determine whether to continue in Sec 3?

Yes, still the case. Principal will sign a letter to inform parents when the child fails HCL straightaway in sec 1 (less than 50%). If pass sec 1, but fail sec 2, then this process repeats. The child will take CL in the next year. Principal will not entertain any appeal, any parent, any student’s choice.

It is very convenience to take the MRT from Tiong Bahru to Tanah Merah than by car. The time by car and train is about the same (30 min). The only different is that you need to walk from Tanah Marah station to AHS which is about 5 mins walk.

You posted the same question in the Maris Stella thread and Anglican High thread.

Do you have twin sons going to 2 different schools?

Hi… these are 1st and 2nd choices for my son. Posting results will only be out on 22 dec. Both school uniforms are sold by Shanghai uniform which indicates on their website that orders has to be received before 15 dec, which is impossible. And appointment is also closed from 21 dec. Therefore i am preparing to review other options.
